High-res iQOO Neo5s renders offer a closer look at the upcoming device

Victor, 18 December 2021

If all goes according to plan, vivo will be unveiling the iQOO Neo5s, likely alongside the iQOO Neo5 SE on December 20. The company has already teased at least some of the design of the upcoming phone, but we now get an even better look from a few angles, courtesy of reputable leakster Digital Chat Station on Weibo.

The renders are high-res, look pretty official and match up nicely with the already available official teasers. We get to see the flat front panel and its selfie punch-hole in more detail, though we can still only guess about some of its more interesting aspects, as suggested by leaks and teasers, namely pressure sensitivity and a dedicated display chip for frame processing of some sort. The panel itself is expected to be a 6.56-inch OLED unit with a 120Hz refresh rate.

As far as we currently know, one of the three snappers on the back of the iQOO Neo5s is a 48MP Sony IMX598 unit, likely with OIS on board, going by the lettering next to the camera island. We also believe the iQOO Neo5s will be powered by a Snapdragon 888 and will charge at up to 66W. Both points also mentioned by Digital Chat Station. That and the fact that the handset is expected to ship with vivo's new OriginOS Ocean based on Android 12.

Last but not least, he does also mention that the iQOO Neo5s will have some fancy heat-dissipating internals featuring rare earth materials. That's not an entirely new revelation either, as earlier teasers have alluded to something similar. Still, we'll have to wait a few hours for more details on that end as well.

Nice looking phone, because it has samsung's signature design middle punch hole and triple vertical camera lens. I hope many chinese OEMs follow the design language of samsung.

IQOO is just Vivo's brand for affordable smartphones since Vivo wants to maintain its image as a premium OEM, that offers premium products even at lower price points (hence their overpriced midrange and entry-level phons). IQOO also operates in ...
