Also I've noticed a similar "halo effect" on BBK phones as well. Might they be using the same suppliers, then?

Minu, 13 Jul 2024Have you tried to adjust advanced display settings? I'... moreAlso i wouldn't actually be able to get it repaired (unless i was to do it myself) because CTDI (who handles HMD phone repairs in Poland) does not know what an HMD Pulse is.
Just now I tried finding it in "others" and even "Nokia G" and "Nokia C" in case they decided to dump them there. There is no mention of the HMD Pulse series anywhere.

This is probably a case of HMD not giving a damn while developing the Pulse series. The Pulse Pro also has a design quirk where the bottom of the frame (where the USB port resides) flexes a bit so i'm not surprised the screen is of poor quality there 🤷🏻

A Nokia 701 from 2012 can reach upto 1000 nits without even having an AMOLED display.
Agree completely on the grey blacks, but IPS doesn't have the terrible drawbacks of the rather outdated PLS TFTs on Samsung phones.
IPS-based phones are simply acceptable substitutes to AMOLED naysayers. Same with the handful of phones with 3.5mm jacks and MicroSD slots.

cope, 15 Jun 2024thats 2023 soc2023 or not, even if this was 2025 chipset, Asking a phone for a 250 price with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 is insanity, Modern low end Snapdragon chips have really tiny and slow GPU, no one will buy this at this price, really who is this phone aimed at when there is better phones around with such price?

Don't buy hmd they will slow down your phone with bad software updates when the phone gets a bit old. Read my comment on nokia 6.2 page.

Sam, 11 Jun 2024Please hmd.....oledvdisplay...oled..oledShush. I'd rather it be an eye-friendly LCD than a low quality OLED with 90 Hz PWM dimming that cause eye strain and migraines. You can't expect high quality OLEDs with high PWM frequencies in the budget range.
