hate that they're using RTOS Touch. If we're able to switch to Android that'd be a viable option for people who like smartphones from 2012-ish. I for sure find myself looking back at my S2 quite often

Anonymous, 19 Nov 2025Wonder why they dont used kai os . Their 3.0 version is smooth . 2.5 is ancient and KaiOS 3.x and KaiOS 4.0 (KaiOS for 5G) are only licensed for like. Two countries (USA, and India for KaiOS for 5G)

On paper this device sounds good, but in reality it is yet another piece of junk by HMD.
The software MOCOR is the same OS that powers their other dumb phones, retrofitted to use touch interface. Since it was not originally a touch OS, it shows. Functions that you could accomplish in one or two clicks in a dumb phone takes multiple clicks to achieve the same result.
It takes a minimum of two swipes and two clicks to call a favorite contact. searching for a contact is cumbersome, even taking a photo is two click process.
Any language other than English has poor font display and is enlarged, so you cant really use any other language other than english.
No message preview on home page (their other dumb phones have it).
I doubt anybody who designed this phone ever used it or tested it for a day. HMD is just wasting their potential to capture the dumb phone market.

Guys have you seen how laggy and choppy the UI on this thing!? It's running on like 15 FPS Look it up on YT it's pathetic.
If you're going to sell e-waste at least make it a functional e-waste. Asha UI from 15 years ago was smoother than this pathetic os.. A freaking fitness band has a smoother os than this entire phone.

They will need access to the source code first, then they obviously need to make many changes to make it compatible and work with this CPU (Unisoc). Also don't forget that Symbian code is 12+ years old. It's not going to work with everything modern unless big changes are made.
C'mon. Symbian is a product of the past. I don't even know why it gets mentioned in this topic. Let it rest.

This phone is good built . love the fabula design . skyline was too big for fabula design . they should make really loud speakers with this type of phone . support java appstore like they did with nokia 5310 . apart from shady unisoc and express chat ( develeoper is a sus chinese firm ) , i love this phone .
