Our Christmas carol

All-round performance mobiles

We suppose there are a lot of you out there that are looking for a mobile phone to take care of all daily communication and multimedia needs. UMTS support with video calls, Wi-Fi, VoiP, vast messaging options, nice camera, good music and video player and large displays are all into the deal. You would also probably want QWERTY keyboard and may be even GPS receiver built right in the thing. Well look no further, as this category is custom made for you.

The Nokia E90 is the flagship among Nokia business class smartphones, and by business we mean feature loaded to the brim. It comes with two wonderful displays, sophisticated yet classic design, a QWERTY keyboard, a GPS receiver and 3 megapixel camera. Wi-Fi support adds to the tally, and no matter what connectivity feature you are after, you'll find it here.

The HTC TyTN II is the direct competitor of the Nokia E90 and has a rather similar form factor - or sort of, at least. It's powered by Windows Mobile 6.0 instead of Symbian OS, has a 2.8" touchscreen TFT display, and takes care of the rest with a QWERTY keyboard, a GPS receiver, a 3 megapixel camera and Wi-Fi support.

We can't really complete this tour of extraordinary smart devices without mentioning the Nokia N95 8GB. It's one of the most versatile smart devices created this year, and yet compact, and there is no doubt we are seeing it appear in several categories. Large display, a great 5 megapixel camera, large storage space, dedicated multimedia keys, Wi-Fi, GPS, UMTS - it's all there.

And finally, we shouldn't forget that Sony Ericsson have their own Symbian smartphones, too. The Sony Ericsson P1 features the UIQ touch screen interface and offers a nice large display. It also has a 3 megapixel auto focus camera, Wi-Fi, UMTS support and QWERTY keypad that's a tad strange.

Last year's tops were…

If you are looking for a smart device, our last year's winner might be your great choice. The HTC TyTN is still a contemporary device and it offers all the comfort of a mini computer in your pocket.
