Honor wrapped up an intensive day of smartphone announcements in which we also saw Oppo introduce two Reno11 smartphones and Red Magic unveil the 9 Pro duo.

Honor kick-started its 100 series with two phones – Honor 100 as the first Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 phone and Honor 100 Pro. Both phones feature 100W charging and a custom-made RF chip C1 for better calls even in the most challenging situations.

Honor 100

The basic 100 is a thin 7.8 mm device with a 6.7” OLED display of 1220p resolution and a fingerprint scanner under the panel. The new Qualcomm chipset has a CPU with one Cortex-A715 core that goes up to 3.15 GHz, three more at 2.4 GHz, and the four Cortex-A510 units for efficiency at 1.8 GHz.

There are just two shooters on the back – 50 MP main with Sony IMX906 sensor f/1.95 aperture and OIS and a 12 MP ultrawide shooter with 112 degrees FoV. The selfie camera has another 50 MP sensor and an f/2.1 lens in front.

The C1 chip determines the best cell tower to connect to, and when there is Wi-Fi connectivity, the phone can switch effortlessly between networks. Honor promises 100 series phones will have smoother calls on high-speed train rides, while internet and video will run smoothly in the subway and elevators.

There is a 5,000 mAh battery inside the Honor 100, and the company will provide the needed adapter in the retail box. Other highlights include NFC, Honor Histen sound and MagicOS 7.2 on top of Android 13.

Prices of the Honor 100 start from CNY 2,499 ($350/€320) for a 12/256 GB version. There are four color options - Black, White, Blue, or Purple, and the phone can already be ordered at the Honor China website.

Honor 100 Pro

The 100 Pro has a bigger 6.78” OLED screen and a mightier Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. While Honor kept the 50 MP main camera and the 12 MP ultrawide shooter, there is also a third 32 MP camera that the company says can achieve “50x zoom”.

It's unclear what part of that is optical zoom, but most of the increase is done digitally because we do not see any sort of periscope lens. It does feature OIS, though.

Honor 100 Pro has the same 5,000 mAh battery with 100W charging as its sibling, but here we also have 66W wireless charging support that could take the phone from 0 to 100% in 42 minutes.

To prevent the phone from overheating, Honor put a VC cooling solution with a 4,674 sq.mm total area in only a 0.35 mm thin component, which is 30% lighter than standard copper VC. The rest of the specs are the same as the non-Pro – Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6, C1 chip for better RF and MagicOS 7.2.
