Honor 200 Pro review
Design, build quality, handling
The Honor 200 Pro is a beautiful smartphone with a gargantuan camera housing with a unique shape. It is IP65-rated for dust and splash resistance, something the previous models were not.
The design is rather familiar - dual-glass sandwich with curved sides and a thin plastic frame. There is no information on the glass maker for either panel.
There are two things that make the Honor 200 Pro look a bit unique among a sea of curved phones - the small pill-shaped cutout at the front, which accommodates the 50MP selfie camera and the depth sensor. And the huge oval camera island on the back, which is even larger than the one on the Honor 100 Pro.
The Honor 200 Pro is available in four colorways - Black, Silver, Green (our), Pink. The Green and Pink models have a two-finish back with a glossy and matte part in a P-like shape. The silver is all grippy with a frost-like texture and the black version has a traditional matt finish.
The 6.78-inch OLED display has a 1224p resolution, which has become the new 1080p we guess. It supports 10-bit color depth, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR, 3840Hz PWM dimming and has been upgraded with up to 4,000nits of peak brightness.
The screen has reasonably thin bezels and a small pill-shaped notch for the dual camera.
There is an under-display fingerprint sensor - fast and accurate, as usual. You probably cannot spot the super thin earpiece above the screen, but it is there. And it acts as a stereo speaker, too, with the help of a second larger outlet on the Honor 200 Pro's top frame.
The other speaker is at the bottom, as usual.
There's an IR blaster on the top of the Honor 200 Pro.
The back looks beautiful no matter which color version you get. The camera island will be a huge eyesore for some, or a unique trait, fancy even for others. It contains the 50MP primary, the 50MP zoom and the 12MP ultrawide cameras, as well as the dual-LED flash.
The phone wobbles a whole lot when left on a flat surface, so if this bothers you, it can be solved by using the bundled case.
The Honor 200 Pro measures 163.3 x 75.2 x 8.2 and weighs 199 grams, which is in line with the phones of such size, maybe a bit lighter than the average.
The phone is incredibly slipper because of its curved shape and thin and glossy frame. It doesn't matter which color option you choose - the grip is almost non-existent without a protective case. It is a common issue with such phones, but we think Honor could have put some extra work on the frame to make it grippier and more comfortable. And that is the only negative observation we have about its design and handling.

I highly doubt that. Face id doesn't use the iPhone's selfie camera, it uses other sensors at the notch.
