Make sure you turn on the setting in 'Protected apps' for Whatsapps, Wechat etc... otherwise Whatsapps will be killed once you leave Whatsapps interface. Any unnecessary apps should not be protected because they will drain battery faster.

Honor 3C lite which is lower spec Honor can have 16 Gb internal storage, Honor 4x should have at least 16 or bigger. But other than that, all is good.

1. Depend on the apps. About 3.7 Gb usable out of *Gb internal memory. We can set the storage to memory card instead of internal storage.
