note on the speaker of the Honor 50 se:
I have been using the smartphone for a few weeks now. Judging sound is always difficult and it takes experience.
I have now used classical music with harpsichord, violin and organ.
the speaker is not worse than the one of the p40lite. the p40lite is louder (but has distortion sometimes at max volume) and has a bit more bass. the speaker of the honor 50 se is a bit quieter but the frequencies are better resolved (highs). It's not a bad speaker, but it can be a bit quiet for old people and hard of hearing and it only has one speaker. For me it is not so bad, because you can anyway wear headphones or bluetooth to control an active speaker. I don't play games. it is in any case a stable device...

final verdict after some weeks.
It's not perfect, the only speaker is not bad but so-so and the tint, for the purpose for which I use it is (and I bought it) it's not bad. it's like the eyecomfort mode, for reading and for videos very good, for outdoors or estimating the quality of photos not so perfect.
It is very stable (a bit heavy), there are no bends, nothing rattles, like the p40 light. For occasional use outdoors and especially indoors very good.
But for everyday use I would choose something around 6.5 inches.
I have now bought an additional silicon case with high lips that protects the large surface in flat falls better.
for the price very good.

the soundspeaker is a bit murky. but it's ok. it has only one at the bottom. the speaker of the p40lite is better.
the screen has a yellowish tint as if the eye comfort mode is on. that's a bit sad since I consider the absolute white of the lcd an advantage over the oled. if it's too white or cold anyway it could be adjusted in the settings. a 100% white is also good when outdoors. but if it has already a tint this does not work.
the processor is fast and it's good for reading for using apps at home. i would not say it's a bad device, but the p40light was just too good for the price. but considering also the form factor I would not recommend it as a daily driver. the camera is very sharp if there is enough light. recently there wasn't enough light here and it can become noisy while shooting indoors or in murky weather conditions.
I bought it for 256$ on aliexpress.

Mini review:

Because I already possess a Huawei p40 lite that I bought only for 200$ (before covid), I bought a Honor 50 se 5G in addition to the p40 lite. The main shooter of the p40 lite is very good for the price, the macro not so good and the ultrawide acceptable. However, mostly only used main cam.
The Honor 50 se is somewhat big in comparison. The pictures are more detailed. But the aperture is smaller, less light comes to the sensor and in low light there is more noise (night, in home or taking photos of documents at home).
the images are fairly big with 108mp but compressed to 80% with *webp it's ok.
I decided to use this as a backup device for finance and reading like a very small tablet. for this it does the job very well.
the daily driver and for the outdoor images still the p40 light does the job very well.
I live very good without google but the only minor thing is that the Honor 50 se lacks TTS for latin languages (next to chinese, it only has english).

Soo here is the trick every huawei device has identical honor device for example huawei nova 8i is similar to honor 50 lite everything thing is the same with very little to no different specs so instead of buying p50 just buy honnor 50 it comes with Google play services

divermans, 22 Oct 2021Is there any solution to download google without gspace?I'm not sure. I've only encountered phone with China ROM once (a Xiaomi) and as far as I know, different brand have different (dedicated?) ways of side-loading Google (play store). Unfortunately, for the Xiaomi (China ROM) that I've meddled with previously, doesn't allow side-loading gms anymore after firmware upgrade to Android 11.
For specifically Honor models, you probably will find a way through Youtube. Try searching "how to side-load google play store in Honor 50) there. Good luck!

It' no wonder you didn't get google play. Majority smartphones, regardless of brands, doesn't include gms. They don't use it in China so it's pointless to pre-load smartphone launched in China with it. I've no comment about the camera quality a I haven't got mine yet. I'll decide later if the camera is good or not for me.

I am really super disappointed I bought Honor 50 SE and No Google services as they promised I will sue Honor for this huge waste of money and the? camera really bad by all the ways it's taking photos look like? painting very fake gsmarena who doesn't believe please contact me I will send you shitty photos I am super damn disappointed. the only good thing is display only... but no compare with my old honor 20 pro still beast and the best.. shame on you honor promise Google then we just got a big finger?? thanks

I can easily switch between payment methods on my phone. It's used quite a lot in western UE, UK, US and surely even more in countries like South Korea...
I have it on my good old Xperia X compact from 2016... So 5 years later I expected it even on cheap phones
