Honor announces Porsche Design Magic6 RSR and Magic6 Ultimate with unique looks
Honor had a big event in China today, where it unveiled the Porsche Design Magic6 RSR smartphone - the new top dog among the company's conventional bar lineup. It comes with a hexagon camera island, developed in collaboration with the popular design house.
Alongside it we saw the arrival of Magic6 Ultimate, which was also inspired by the luxury car brand but came with a different back panel design, incorporating a composite fiber material.
The new duo packs an improved H9800 main camera sensor, which retains the 50 MP resolution, but promises improved 15EV dynamic range. Honor also claims the Magic6 RSR autofocus is improved for faster and more accurate focus locks.
The Porsche Design Honor Magic6 RSR also sports a new dual-layer OLED Tandem Display designed to extend the screen lifespan by up to 600%, according to the company. It is also supposed to minimize the display brightness degradation to less than 1% after three years of use.
Honor Magic6 RSR comes in the Frozen Berry color which sounds familiar because it is the hero color of the Porsche Taycan, which you can find more about on our sister website ArenaEV.com.
It is also available in Agate Grey, a classic paint job in generations of Porsche 911 race cars. Honor used JuRhino Glass at the front and bottom to protect both the screen and the lovely back.
Honor Magic6 Ultimate is essentially the same phone as the RSR edition, but comes with a more modest retail package and a different back.
The Magic6 RSR is available to order in China with 24 GB RAM and 1 TB storage, the most in an Honor smartphone ever. It costs CNY9,999 (almost $1,400) - that's a lot more expensive than any regular Magic6 Pro (the 16 GB/1TB trim of that one is currently CNY6,699, which is about $930). Sales of the RSR outside China will begin in Q2.

The Magic6 Ultimate is a slightly more affordable product. It comes in two colors - Black and Purple, and costs CNY6,999 ($970) for the 16/512 GB version or CNY7,699 (nearly $1,100) for the 16 GB/1 TB option.
The company also introduced to the local audience the MagicBook Pro 16, a laptop we recently reviewed in full. You can read more about the Core Ultra 7 155H-powered device with Nvidia 4060 GPU here. This one was confirmed to go on sale globally in Q2 of this year, which starts in 3 weeks.
