Honor GS Pro and ES smartwatches announced
Today Honor officially introduced its Watch GS Pro and Watch ES smartwatches. The GS Pro is the brand’s first rugged offering aimed at adventure enthusiasts while the Watch ES is positioned as a private fitness trainer on your wrist.
Honor Watch GS Pro
The Watch GS Pro is built around a circular 1.39-inch AMOLED display with a 454x454 pixel resolution. It features a stainless steel bezel and polycarbonate body with a silicone strap. The rugged nature of the GS Pro is backed by 14 MIL-STD-810G certifications including thermal, shock and water resistance.
Honor is targeting hiking, skiing and swimming enthusiasts with features like tide condition and bad weather alerts, skiing and snowboard tracking as well as hike navigation independent from your phone.
In total, there are over 100 workouts modes including swimming with active heart rate tracking. There’s also a built-in blood oxygen monitor and sleep tracking.
The whole package is powered by the Kirin A1 chipset found in the Huawei Watch GT 2 and FreeBuds 3. Honor is advertising up to 25 days of battery life in its low power mode, while intensive usage with GPS enabled will last you for 48 hours. Pairing happens through Bluetooth 5.1.
The Honor Watch GS Pro comes in camo blue, charcoal black and marl white colors and will retail for €250. Pre-orders in Europe tip-off on September 7 with the special launch offer on Honor's website letting you save €50 from what is already an attractive price.
Honor Watch ES
The Honor Watch ES is a more traditional fitness-oriented smartwatch with a 1.64-inch square AMOLED display and 456x280 pixel resolution. It offers always-on functionality and customizable widgets and watch faces.
It also packs step-by-step workout instructions with animations on the display with 12 fully animated fitness courses pre-installed. You can also track a total of 95 workout modes. There’s heart rate and blood oxygen tracking as well as sleep and stress tracking.
Battery life is rated at 10 days thanks to the dual-chipset architecture. There’s also a quick charge function that can top up the battery to 70% in just 30 minutes.
The Honor Watch ES comes in black, pink and white colors and will retail for €100. Pre-orders in Europe will again start on September 7 with early backers getting to chose between €20 off the watch or a free set of Honor's Sport Bluetooth Earphones.
