Honor Magic6 Lite battery life test

Peter, 14 February 2024

We received the Honor Magic 6 Lite a few days ago – it’s a €400 mid-ranger with a 6.78” 1220p-class display (10-bit, 120Hz) and 108MP main camera. While the review is in progress, we wanted to share our findings about the battery life.

The Magic6 Lite has a 5,300mAh battery with support for 35W fast charging. It is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, a 4nm chip from 2022 (built on Samsung’s 4LPE node). For comparison, the Magic5 Lite had a 5,100mAh battery (40W charging), Snapdragon 695 and a 6.67” 1080p-class display.

With an Active Use score of 13:08, the Honor Magic6 Lite places pretty high on the charts for a mid-ranger. It surpasses the likes of a Moto Edge 40 Neo and Galaxy A54 (both with 5,000mAh batteries) and is on par with an iPhone 15 (3,349mAh).

If there’s one area that’s concerning, it’s gaming – that 6:33 is on the lower end of the scale. This is the first Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 phone that we review, so we’re curious to see what the Adreno 710 GPU has to offer. However, pairing it with a higher than FHD+ screen may have hurt the endurance.

Right now, HiHonor.com is selling the Magic6 Lite for €400 for an 8/256GB unit. It comes only with a USB-C cable, but in Germany you can get a 66W SuperCharge adapter for €1 (normally worth €30) – more than the phone needs, but you can use it for other gadgets including laptops. You also get Honor Earbuds X5 and a screen protector for free. Note that the offer in the UK is a bit different and you can have a 22.5W charger for £3 or the 66W one for £9 (worth £18 and £25, respectively).

We'll need to see the Honor 100 price first.

The initial price seems to be €300 in Spain and Italy for 256gb of storage as there is a €100 coupon. For that price it isn't bad at all. €400 would be a bit steep but €300 in Europe is quite good. The Chinese model of this phone was the top sel...

Why? Honor has some good midrangers. The Honor 90 wasn't bad and the Honor 100 is better again. I probably wouldn't go for them at full price but saw the Honor 90 dropped in price a lot in Europe which could make it a very good option. All ...
