Honor Magic8 Pro unboxing
We brought the Honor Magic8 Pro back with us from China, and while we're tinkering with Honor's latest flagship, we thought, why not do an unboxing?
It's a short and sweet task - you get a USB cable, a SIM eject tool, and the phone. Depending on the model, you can enjoy either 100W (global) or 120W (Chinese) charging speeds, but you'd need to supply your own charger.
We had the chance to check out the blue-ish Mint Magic8 Pro while at Honor's announcement event, and now we also have the silver-ish Gold. They share the wavy lines that appear on the rear panel under specific light.
A key improvement with the Magic8 Pro is the telephoto camera. The sensor, while still a 200MP 1/1.4-inch unit, is the newer ISOCELL HP9, and it's an imager developed with zoom cameras in mind. The other improvement is the lens, now a native 85mm f/2.6 unit (up from 72mm).
Finally, in a related note, the Magic8 Pro adds a dedicated camera control button, something the Magic7 Pro didn't have. But unlike the majority of phones that use a capacitive button, the Magic8 Pro has a physical button (just like the iPhone), and it's a better implementation. The physical feedback you get is simply better than a vibration you'd receive on a competing phone.

I also have been using the 6 Pro for over a year now. I am thinking about upgrading this year, cause there is some improvement. The Magic 7 Pro had almost nothing new and a smaller battery. I think the upgrade is worth this time:)

I get it. You're right. However in the case of Honor I must say that they have made significant efforts to catch up the huge gap they had in terms of software and security support. It's still far from class leading but at least you get more...
