Honor Play 50 Plus unveiled with Dimensity 6020 SoC and 50MP camera

Honor introduced the Play 40 Plus last October, and a year later, the company has unveiled its successor, named Honor Play 50 Plus.

The Honor Play 50 Plus is powered by the Dimensity 6020 SoC and runs Android 13-based MagicOS 7.2. It has 256GB of storage onboard with two RAM options - 8GB and 12GB. The smartphone is built around a 6.8" 90Hz FullHD+ LCD with a punch-hole in the center for the 8MP selfie camera.

The smartphone's back cover, reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+, sports two big left-aligned circles housing flash and a couple of cameras - 50MP primary and 2MP depth. Fueling the entire package is a 6,000 mAh battery with 35W charging support.

The rest of the Honor Play 50 Plus' highlights include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual speakers, and Hi-Res Audio support (wired and wireless). The smartphone also features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB-C port, and has 5G connectivity.

Honor Play 50 Plus color options

The Honor Play 50 Plus comes in four colors, with the 12GB/256GB model priced at CNY1,399 ($195/€185/INR16,275) and already available for purchase in China through Honor's official Chinese website. Honor is yet to reveal the price of the 8GB/256GB version.

Many flagships still start at 128GB: iPhone, Pixel, etc. And the ones that don't start with 256GB, but if they have a larger "system" space than this phone, then they effectively have less usable storage than this phone.

Not worth the price, regardless.

How?
