Honor starts beta testing MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14

While Samsung is already well on its way to reaching a dozen or more devices with the stable One UI 6 update based on Android 14, other manufacturers are only just starting their closed beta tests. Case in point: Honor.

Starting today, the company's Magic4 and Magic5 series are eligible to participate in a closed beta of the upcoming MagicOS 8.0, based on Android 14.

Registrations for willing participants in the beta have started today in China and will be open until December 14. There will be 3,000 slots for the Magic4 series and 3,000 for the Magic5 series, in total.

Intriguingly, Honor has started closed beta recruitment without announcing any new features coming in MagicOS 8.0, so those who sign up are basically going in blind. Hopefully an open beta will follow soon, not to mention a stable update to Android 14 for at least the Magic4 and Magic5 series. We'll keep you posted.
