Honor V30 will have 5G support
Honor's next flagship offering will bake in 5G support, according to the brand's president, Zhao Ming. He officially confirmed this, as well as the phone's name: Honor V30. That's not surprising considering that last year the company launched the Honor V20 in China, and the same phone as the Honor View 20 in other markets.
So there's a big chance that we'll see the V30 outside of China marketed as the Honor View 30. Whether it will keep the 5G support remains to be seen. Also interesting will be to see how this model will be priced, since last year's V20 was the cheapest device to employ the Kirin 980 chipset, starting off at just CNY 2,999 ($419 or €377 at the current exchange rates).
The Honor V30 will employ the soon to be announced Kirin 990, along with the Balong 5000 modem, but because of the 5G support its price may go up significantly compared to its predecessor. The V20 got official on December 26, 2018, so the V30 could be unveiled around the same time this year.
