Honor X40 GT announced with Snapdragon 888 and 50MP cam, Play 6C also debuts
Honor announced a pair of new phones in China with the Snapdragon 888-powered X40 GT and the Snapdragon 480+ equipped Play 6C.
Honor X40 GT
Honor X40 GT gets a 6.81-inch FHD+ IPS LCD with a 144Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate. The device also brings an impressive 8-layer graphite cooling pad which can cool the phone’s surface temperature by up to 1 degree Celcius. The phone runs on the slightly old yet still capable Snapdragon 888 platform with 8/12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
The back houses a 50MP main cam alongside a 2MP macro cam and a 2MP depth of field module while the selfie cam comes in at 16MP. Honor X40 GT comes equipped with a 4,800 mAh battery and 66W fast charging. It boots Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 12.
Honor X40 GT in all its color options
Honor X40 GT comes in black, silver and racing black colors with a starting price of CNY 2,099 ($290) for the 8/256GB trim. The 12/256GB mode is CNY 2,399 ($332) and open sales in China are scheduled to being on October 18.
Honor Play 6C
Honor Play 6C is the latest budget-oriented device from the brand. It packs a 6.5-inch HD+ resolution display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a waterdrop notch for its 5MP selfie cam. The device comes equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480+ chipset alongside 6/8GB RAM and 128GB storage which is expandable via microSD.
The back of the Play 6C houses a 13MP main camera alongside a 2MP depth sensor and LED flash. Magic UI 5.0 based on Android 12 covers the software side while the battery is rated at 5,000 mAh and supports 22.5W fast charging. The phone comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Honor Play 6C in black, silver and blue
Honor Play 6C is available in black, silver and blue colors starting at CNY 1,099 ($153) for the 6/128GB trim. There’s an 8/128GB model for CNY 1,299 ($180) and both are already available to order in China. Global pricing and availability is yet to be detailed.

Ips isn't going anywhere , + it's a matter of preferences for some people not all of them prefer amoled

I would probably opt for the Moto G200 instead of this X40 GT if I needed an IPS display with Snapdragon 888. The cameras ruin this one for me.

So basically its what Poco x4 pro should be... But in other hand some of features are too close to older x3pro that still good choose as this x40 GT beside 5G and slightly better cpu doesnt have much compared to it...
