Came from Xiaomi to try Honor brand. But still I didn't sold my Redmi Note 9 Pro just to be sure Honor X9A disappoints me, but here are the drawbacks:
- No Expandable Storage
- Honor didn't state any policy regarding guaranteed future Android upgrades
- Single Speaker, No 3.5mm audio jack
- The UI is very Android 11, despite the base is Android 12.
- No available public access on developer/ community support related to software update packages, firmware packages, firmware flashing tool, bootloader unlocking guide, and community portal. (Yes if you are coming from Xiaomi, these things are a huge step back)
- No IR Blaster
- No eSIM (hey its 2023 already)
The only reason I purchased this unit is:
- Almost bezel-less curved AMOLED display
- 5G
- Battery and 40W charging
- Basically, I just want to try new brand.
There are other phones at same price and midrange category so if you dont care about its curved and tough AMOLED display, then Poco X4 GT, Redmi Note 12 Pro, and Poco F3 or F4 has better specs on papers than Honor X9A.

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2023there is a reason everybody is detaching the SD memory , I... moreLolololol, sd card are tough & hard to corrupt. There's even a video on YT where a guy tried to corrupt it with Radiation & it didn't not damage the sd card in any way

I can't wait to see what honor flagship will look like . the only thing that I didn't like about this is the dimensions (length and width ratio ), otherwise it's an excellent phone .
