It has no long life of the battery and the sound is really low, which removes all the desires and the beauty of it!

I have used iPAQ 910c for over a year now. I think I can safely call it a toy... A really "cheap" low quality TOY. First the keys around the edges (Q,A, Fn,Shift,.,Return key,Backspace key, and P) stopped responding. You necessarily have to use the Styllus if you need to make an input. Battery duration is poor, as everyone knows by now. But charging it now takes forever... almost a full 8-hr day to get up to 80-90% via the USB. Charging direct via AC adapter probably takes longer! CRAP!!!

teo, 19 Apr 2010how can you compare it with the iphone :)))))) omg , why ca... moreThe Iphone is a great toy. My wife has one. But it really lacks features when you need it for business. It doesn't even come standard with MS Office. It doesn't have a user friendly keyboard for people with big fingers (like me, I hate touch screens and with Iphone you can't get a Bluetooth keyboard and you can't even use a stylus or your finger nail with it) and it took me a long time to upload anything besides music, podcast, videos and pictures that really distract you from work. I tried to put some PDF files on her phone and it's really cumbersome. It doesn't even have a root directory or a program like the explorer. The 3G didn't even support AD2P to listen music with bluetooth stereo headphones and even the 3GS doesn't support all the bluetooth protocols. I wanted to send my wife a business card via Bluetooth from a dinky little Nokia phone and it wouldn't even accept that.
Like I said if you want to play and have no clue how to really use a computer get an IPhone!! It's simple and even you grandma can figure it out. Great tool/toy for those kind of people. However if you need something for business and like to have some flexiblity because you are a little technically inclined and know what else is possible get a pocket PC. I can't even start to tell you how easy it is to use the Iphone and how frustrated I get when I run into its limits all the time. It's definitely like a model T (one size fits all, like Ford's great words you can have a car any color as long as it is black)

i had the hp ipaq 194c business messenger
                pros:
-cost me 130 €, very cheap for a lot of fetures
                cons:
                -its sa slow mobile
-after you push the end call buton it takes 2-3 seconds to end up the conversation
-not good at all for listening to the music
So , if you whant a cheap business phone , to check your emails ,etc its good, but dont pay for it more than 130 - 150 €

Does anyone know if a Garmin external antenna will work with these phones ?

I have bought an 910c on august 2008. Today I am happy to throw this low quality phone to the garbage.
Reason : Keyboard does not work properly. The phone is slow when the memory has some pictures stored. It takes an eternity to boot up. Windows mobile is not an OS for such a small screen. If you synch your email every 15 min the battery last 1 day (if you are lucky). I am jumping to a BB Storm 2. That is a High end product. Shame on HP.

fine then, if you've tried all of it and the light is still flashing it probably means the device is faulty.
no reason why the shop (or hp) wouldn't replace the unit.

as far as the other comment:
"great on paper crap in real life".

"crap" how ? what happened ?

i really don't understand people writing this type of nonsense. if YOU're loading up the device with pirated software or any other "crap" little youtube-type application which is not officially supported, go figure. buy yourself a toy like iphone or other thc "bling". Ipaq is a professional device and as such, its near perfection.

90% of faults in devices like this one are caused by lack of knowledge of their users.

Replaced battery twice. Already replaced device once. Now it's off to the shop again.Problems charging.Great on the paper, crap in real life.
If HP invested 10-15% more effort in hardware/software side of this device, it would be probably the best Win PDA on the market.

if you dont have the manual - did you went to Hp official website to d/l the manual ?
                                  its all there !
lets agree youre too lazy to do the above.
pulsating green light means youre in "ok coverage" area
constant green light means the power is still supplied, and u should try to switch it off/on -> (if doesnt help) soft reset -> (if doesnt help) hard reset.
                                  read the manual first.

check your system settings/power tab. theres an option for "fast charge" which is supposed to charge it fully in around 2 hours. it might depend on software you have as well - if youre on bluetooth constantly, if youre hooked up to si-fi all the time, and if you have plenty of things in background - the battery will go down fast. remember - after u stop using the device dont forget to go to task manager to stop the software - usually when you tap "x" or "ok" these go into background rather than being closed. this drains the battery as well.
ive tried not to use the device for the most of the day once - after 8-10 hours battery went don only by 10%. so yes, it depends on the user / configuration.
