HP iPAQ hw6900 rumours

11 Jan, 2006

A new information about the rumoured HP iPAQ hw6700 has appeared in the Internet. It seems to have been renamed to iPAQ hw6900. The new series will come in two models - hw6910 and hw6915.

The new Hewlett Packard Pocket PC phones will have the same dimensions as the current hw6500 - 118 x 71 x 21 mm. They will have an integrated A-GPS receiver, 128 MB flash memory, 64 MB SDRAM memory and the Intel Xscale PXA 270 processor, working at 416 Mhz. To keep the same dimensions, hw6900 won't have SDIO/MMC slot, which was present in the hw6500 series. However, Bluetooth 1.2, IrDA, USB 1.1, GPRS/EDGE and Wi-Fi support will be available and the miniSD slot will stay. Both the new devices will have 3-inch 65k color TFT touchscreen, but only the hw6915 will have a 1.3 mega pixels camera with LED flash.

Working with the Windows Mobile 5.0 OS with AKU2 (Adaptation Kit Update 2 for additional extras), the HP iPAQ hw6900 series are expected to be released in the first quarter of 2006.
