you know they ask you to turn off your phones while on the flight. Next time u do that you might take the plane down with this phone.

About the slow phone operations on this phone, its actually the Window Mobile 5 thats causing the slowness.

Here is the fix to this problem:

                  http://mobilitytoday.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13335&highlight=midi

Look in the thread for the "Phone Hack.zip" file.

Overall, I find this phone excellent. It's the Swiss-Army-knife of phones. My battery lasts a decent amount of time, 3-4 days between charges based on my usage. I also have 2 extra batteries so it's all good.

The gps in this ipaq is great, I downloaded de GPS TUNER , use my own maps for calibration and i was ready to go. I used my Ipaq gps on a commercial flight sitting by the window, and I got gps fix all the flight. It was great having all my flight info, speed, alt, avrg speed, ete, eta.

Hey everyone, I just bought the 6925 Cingular (unlocked). It's good, the screen could be brighter & higher resolution (u can't tell how dark it is unless u put it next to another phone - the screen is really basically fine)

I have installed TomTom and the GPS works great, but u gotta get a fix for GPS to work with TomTom:

                      Registry Editor
                      http://www.breaksoft.com/Blog/Utilities/2005/1/Mobile_Registry_Editor.aspx

                      1. Connect your Pocket PC to your computer using ActiveSync.

                      3. Run the registry editor and navigate to the following registry entry:

                      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > ControlPanel > GPS Settings

                      4. Click on GPS Settings to view the keys associated with this entry.

                      5. Right-click the value Hide and choose Delete to delete the value.

                      ----
basically the phone is good, it's a bit big, the qwerty is good, camera i don't really care about .. the dial pad theme can be improved but for some reason i can't install another one.... other than that, the qwerty is good, its just a bit slow but no problems with calls or anything... its generally good, the only way I will upgrade is if another model comes out with gps, wifi, bluetooth, qwerty, its a lot smaller and high resolution good screen.. otherwise theres no need to upgrade

Very bad phone, bad battery, always turn off immediately (a big problem of HP 69xx series). I must replace 4 ones for the time of warranty limited.
                        Never think about HP again

I have an iPaq hw6945, but its battery last for less than 1 day, at Stand by, with no other use! Is it normal or there might be a problem here?

Does anyone know were i can get an instruction booklet for this PDA?

I have heard rumours it can work as a toaster and washing machine using the engineer code.

True, the backspace takes a full 1.5 seconds to reflect. Many times calls are missed while the memory is full. I love the browsing experience of the phone but these small errors are irritating. The audio quality (while talking) isnt something I am too proud of

I have had the Australian version of this PDA phone (hw6965) for almost 9 months now. It replaced a SE 910i. The HP with WM5.0 has very many features as a PDA, including GPS. However, as a phone it is very disappointing. Phone functionality is very slow and frustrating despite a relatively fast processor. HP needs to dedicate more processor power to the phone. Response to incoming calls is so slow or not at all that they are often missed. The joy stick is difficult to use and is nothing compared to the SE thumbwheel. A serious lack for a high-powered PDA is that it does not have UMTS (3G). I am thinking of going to thSE990i or whatever follows it (fast, featured and user friendly).

Did anyone see that the backspace key during phone operation is very slow? Or is it just inmy unit (6965)? Rest looks fine..I used to own 6515 and the backspace key in that works just fine.
