HTC Aria gets an Android 2.2 Froyo update in the AT&T network

25 February, 2011

It certainly was a long wait, but it was probably worth it. AT&T is finally pushing the Android 2.2 update to their version of the HTC Aria. The American carrier seems to be on a roll as this is the second Froyo update this week.

So if you have been resisting the temptation to get 2.2 (or even 2.3) on your Aria yourselves with a helping hand from the XDA forums, now is your chance. You will get to experience the JIT compiler that significantly boosts the app performance, Flash support in the web browser along some other new goodies.

Basically this way the AT&T subscribers that purchased the Aria will get an experience similar to what their European friends were enjoying with the Gratia. Of course, there will be some AT&T bloatware preinstalled, but those subsidies are usually worth it.

Enough talking, now start updating. And don't forget to mention how you like your Froyo-tasting handset in the comments section.
