This phone is almost perfectly complete. My only issue and the sole reason why I probably wont purchase it is the weak battery. For this reason I will buy the uglier Samsung Beam. For those who have this - especially heavy users, how often do you charge it? I dont want a scenario where I am carrying a spare battery. Nor do I want to be carrying a charger 24/7 or leaving it in the charger. My current phone is the Nokia E72. I charge this about once every three, four days. I need a beast of a battery new phone. This phone has everything but damn - that battery. Why can't they make these smart phones have super strong batteries? They know we will use it for so many things apart from the conventional making calls (web browsing, listening to music, photography, gaming etc). The only smart phone that seems to hae a decent battery is the Samsung Beam. I am still unsure but swinging towards that phone.

pH1, 06 May 2010"If HTC claims this phone is Iphones killer, don't you... moreI so agree with you, what is Iphone,it doesn't even have a proper name, compare with phone which are superior then that thing...like evo 4g or the samsung bada os phone or Hd2 which kicked that thing from the top..earlier I liked it's touch cause it was very well tuned but know all the others have catch-up and exceed the thing...so there is no comparison with that thing(Iphone)anymore..thanks for the write up,this will straighten up the two goofs in their foreign forum, cause we don't like them either..

pH1, 06 May 2010"If HTC claims this phone is Iphones killer, don't you... moreThe term "iPhone Killer" is used as the iPhone is seen in the mobile industry as probobly the best touchscreen phone out there. It has set such a benchmark that other brands have been going out of their way to either compete or produce a phone that beats the iPhone in specs.
I disagree that the phone isnt revolutionary and doesnt have a practical design. The iPhone IS revolutionary and does have a straightforward design that doesnt need flashy buttons sticking out all over the place.
The HTC Desire is no doubt a great competitor for the iPhone. Consumers now have more choice when buying a phone. I have an iPhone and am very happy with it, like so many million people are. But HTC isnt a brand I would rule out, the Desire sure is a new big dog out there that makes HTC a big player in the mobile market.

Franklyn - Sydney, 05 May 2010If HTC claims this phone is Iphones killer, don't you think... more"If HTC claims this phone is Iphones killer, don't you think it should also come with a minimum 32Gig Storage space - Just like Iphone,Sony Ericsson X10,Nokia N8 and the list goes on!!"
--> there are a few things wrong with wat u hv said. 1st of all, the x10 does not hv 32gb of storage. 2nd u wrote "claims" when actually it is an iphone killer (along with a few hundred other phones which r superior to iphone)
what iphone is:
-its a great moneymaking device for apple
-it is a closed system (no flash, 3rd party apps must be approved by apple...)
-its over-hyped and well advertised (like all apple products)
what iphone is not:
-its not a good phone (multiple features are still lacking and in america at least, it has poor reception, due to a combination of at&t which apple chose to work with and the impractical design apple used on iphone. it looks good, but its not a practical design)
-its not any of the words apple use to describe it (such as revolutionary, breakthrough... u know the rest)
-it is not a phone that other phones shud be compared to. im really tired of the term "iphone-killer" bcos so many phones are better than iphone. phones shudnt be compared to the iphone every time a new 1 comes out. they shud compared to other great phones (that does not include the apple iphone)

[deleted post]hello Hamid,
If you are really 8 years old then try other phones as well before judging them, you will get a lot of experience and choices to pick from..(just don't say X10 is better because somebody you know bought it)..with more research you will have more knowledge for your debate..we don't mean bad for you but you sometimes irritate people with the same slogan..tq

Had my HTC desire for a week now, and been very impressed so far. Pretty hard to fault except I would say that the screen outside does not seem that good.
Other than that its by far the best phone I've had. Like it much more than my girlfriends iPhone 3G, and not being tied to iTunes etc. Highly recommended.

[deleted post]actually the X10 is garbage... honestly. no multitouch? have you even had your hands on either device? and the X10's 'splines' are pretty to look at, but functionality is the cost.

Today HTC Desire is best Android Phone in Market today by far. We have to wait and see the Samsung Galaxy S I9000 how would be compare to this phone.
It look like the Samsung has few advantages over Desire but problem is Galaxy is made of cheap plastic and no flash.

[deleted post]The difference between HTC Desire and Sony is that I do not have to wait 8 months. Plus same Article say:
"Adding HD video recording via firmware upgrade is certainly surprising but a similar software update was rumored recently about the HTC Desire as well."

kevin, 05 May 2010This phone sucks. i bought it yesterday and it havent a equ... moreEqualizers add distortion to music and that would ruin the crystal clear quality produced by the DSP chip on the Desire which is quite frankly amazing. GPS works perfectly on my Desire, I get a lock in 5 seconds or less.
