I like this phone its very fast in compare of samsung and the screen resolution is nice good phone for me

aman, 22 Jul 2014friends i want to buy a new smart phone please give me sug... morePlease don't buy this handset.. the Quality of hardware is so bad that display broke in 2 days from the date of purchase. the screen can't withstand smallest of the pressure ( ie, you can't put even in trouser pocket).

hi guys recently i take a htc desire 516 it is very nic mobile and all features r there in this mobile but only disadvantage is battery backup and heating
if u play any games for 10 min the mobile temp is abt 40 deg except that the mobile is asm

Well all of u wntd to knw tht why htc phones are priced slightly higher than other oems phones.
Htc has always been the most innovative and for doing this research and developmnt they need money ....
But samsung and sony are not so innivative....
Sammy just keep copying and sony comes up qith nothing new....
Apple always do smthng new thtswhy it charge higher...
In android deptmnt no one is equivalent to htc's innovative features....

i bought the htc 516 on 06/07/2014. the phone looks good according to me, but yes this is not the traditional htc type premium smartphone, the cheap plastic body feels like the phone is made by samsung with an htc badge...never mind it was not a deal breaker for me....now after one week of use what i figured out is that the sd card storage is kind of useless as all the apps are only stored in phone memory there is no option to transfer them to sd card (a basic feature provided by even cheaper phones), whenever you receive any file music etc via bluetooth or download it from the net it is again saved only in phone memory and there is no option to transfer it to sd card unless one has to connect the phone to a laptop via data cable and manually cut paste the received/downloaded files into the sd card.
now the horror part the internal storage is only 4 gb which effectively turns out to be 1.72 gb (approx) free phone storage, now was htc drunk while making this phone when we are forced to store all the apps and files in phone storage how the hell will the 1.72gb free storage be sufficient, even the asphalt 8 airborne has a size of around 2 gb this is common sense, or else htc should have provided with atleast 8 gb internal storage.
then the next problem is the back button does not work smoothly and sometime it doesnt react for 2-3 seconds and the phone lags under heavy usage.
with all these problems i went to the service centre thinking that there is some software issue and will be fixed by them, to my surprise the service centre guys confirmed that many customer are coming with same complaints and they cannot help it as even the demo phone provided by the htc co. to the service centre has the same set of problems. and they also confirmed that htc has not provided the "move to sd card" option so there is no way to transfer the apps to the sd card.
this is a serious note to htc, please provide some software update and add the feature of "move to sd card" for apps and other files otherwise this phone is a piece of shit without it and im feeling like somebody looted my hard earned rs 13500/-
people who want quality products have high regards for htc and prefer their phone over other cheap manufacturers like the samsung, micromax etc and even i am one of them, please htc dont let us think otherwise.

I heard that there is no proximity and light sensor in desire 516.
I want to know if the screen light gets on and off automatically as in other touch screen mobiles during call when we are talking to someone???
Does it have sensorcore as in lumia 630?

1.Battery back up is too much less.
2.Damn sure camera isn't 5 mp.Samsung's 5mp is far better than it.
3.Video recording is very bad.
4.Some applications are forced close automatically.
It's just the name HTC, noting else.Don't go for it in such a high range price.

516 is a real good phone . its stock android except blink feed so i found it real fluid . m happy to buy this one only limitation is the limited space for apps (1.72 gb), i m ok with it bcz i dont like to put heavy games on mob and slight battery backup is not upto the mark
but with this price range its great buy
pros - display , performance , design
cons - battery backup , limited storage
in all i h happy to buy this one
