I am using this phone from nearly 2 months. Believe me it is the best phone at this price. Some are saying that it heats up a lot. But according to me it don't heats up a lot. It only becomes slightly warm near the camera portion just like other phones and it's not a big issue. Also some are saying that battery life is very poor but it is not. The battery life is very good. I play Asphalt 8 everyday for 30 minutes. Even after playing this type of big game the battery can last up to 1.5 days or sometimes more than that.
If you are facing battery problems then you can use power saving modes. Power saving modes stops the 4 cores of octa core processor to save power and it really helps a lot. You can also use Extreme power saving mode to save more power.
And it will definitely be updated to Lollipop. And then heating issues will be resolved completely. Also battery life will also increase after the update.
So, just buy it without any hesitation.

HTC desire 820 dual SIM is a great mid range smartphone with good camera and outstanding speakers , yes the battery drains a bit faster as it's a 5.5 inch smartphone, sometimes it tends to heat up when we use many applications at a time Or play games having high graphics. It supports dual pen drive, otg Cabel, keyboard, mouse, card reader and some other stuffs. it has two nano SIM slots and an sd card slot Which supports up to 128 gb. Since the battery problem is with all the smartphones what I suggest you is that you should buy power banks according to your smartphones battery mah.some of you mentioned about ringing volume is quite low or less but it's not like that , just try to adjust the ringing volume after that only you will know how loud it is. Apart from that like I have mentioned above it is a great smartphone with good camera facility and with outstanding good speakers.

phone getting heated from upper part camera side...poor battery...otherwise awesome
