Just follow the steps in the below link and update your desire 820s to lollipop but try it at your own risk ....... I tried and I was successful my phone is running lollipop with HTC sense 7

Dont ever go for this or any of HTC handset, reasons:
Camera quality sucks, limited option in camera, no good ui, u get the same stock android without much customization option which u also get in cheap phones like micromax, lava, etc.
music player old and lame with low outputs both in speaker and headphones, boomsound is a joke made by HTC of the users.
I have been using the phone since last six months the battery drains pretty fast and takes a looooooong time to charge, no updates from HTC, no answers on their official pages on fb or twitter.
i played dead effect 2 and modern combat in full graphics and the wholephone heats up like some engine. My verdict dont go for any HTC phone hence forth. save your money.

Had this phone for approximately 4months.
Battery timing is very poor.
Rear camera is like shi.t.
Front facing camera is good.
Doesn't lag too much. I'm not a hardcore gamer.
Operating software is android 4.4.4 and still there is no update. People are using marshmallow android 6
Overall it gets 5/10
