Every one plz be assured guys lollipop update is there for 820s it may anytime receive lollipop under ota update in December...........

You could have bought some other phone buddy,we people are struggling to get updates here.if you don't want updates and if you are happy with the current version of the sense (which is not at all a sense)then it's fine or else even you will get frustrated like us.I am not satisfied with the HTC service,

I'm using this device for about 3 days. So far so good. I'm pleased with the display, interface, processor speed, ram. Stereo speakers do a fine job. Awesome sounds. Battery life is not so good. But I don't think it's bad. However I got a Samsung powerbank 2600mAh. So I'm all good. Camera quality isn't really that impressive. But it's handy under day lights. One of the main bad things is, desire 820s doesn't come with HTC sense. However I'm using a 3rd party launcher, nova launcher. Device scored a little less than 45000 in Antutu benchmark. I think desire 820s is really good for the price. It's a really beautiful smartphone with a nicely balanced 155g body.
So, don't really worry about the negative comments on this page. I'm using this device. And I'm really pleased with this device.
Performance is awesome. It's a fast, smooth processor, will get you through all the multitasking things you hope to do and games are running smoothly on the device.
I can't comment on the lollipop update. Since this is running on kitkat, no USB on the go guys.
You can count on the performance. It's better than desire 820, and desire 826.
Anyone having trouble in taking screenshots, Screenshots can be easily taken by holding volume down key together with the pier button for 1 second.

Responses regarding lollipop update :
1. The update was released but because the update contains bug, they are working on a new update expecting to available within first 2 weeks of December.
2. From HTC Support - The update was released and it takes 45 days to reach individual devices.
3. It's impossible to update for non Taiwanese version and requires the need of flashing a ROM
4. From HTC twitter - we don't have any information to share
There are so many diff responses don't know which one is even trustworthy...

Hi guys and girls, let me put this clear. There's HTC Desire 820s dual sim which is coded A50ML_DTUL, common in the entire world and running kitkat 4.4.4 and there's HTC_D820ys coded HTC_A50ML which is a Taiwanese version of 820s dual sim(same hardware specs) but runs Lollipop 5.0.2 and Sense 7 out of the box. Considering the common version of 820s doesn't even have Sense it's just impossible to update the phone to lollipop and Sense 7 OTA. The only way it can be updated is by flashing custom ROM obtained from the HTC_D820ys backup since they have the same hardware. So 820s guys running kitkat don't expect any more updates for the phone

This was email sent to me by htc so it is confirmed that lollipop update will come for 820s
