I bought this phone HTC 820s at the beginning of June, and here are some points:
- Both cameras totally blow, blurry image and horrible night shots.
- No boom sound, not that good speaker either.
- No full sense features, no power saving modes (it has standby intelligent power saving option in the battery menu), no notification bar toggle management.
- No gorilla glass.
- Mediocre battery performance.
- Almost every HTC app on Google play is not compatible.
- No support for the phone on XDA or the first 100 pages of Google search. that means no custom roms, tweaks or whatsoever.
- No lollipop & not even a rumor about the update.
My verdict: don't buy or try to get rid of it if you have already bought it.

I brought this phone four months ago... mic problem started.... my voice is not audible to others on the phone... getting frustrated. .. no proper customer care even in city like tirupathi.... camera clarity is not good... headset given by htc is not good.... rest of the phone specifications good....

I have been using 820s for about 4 months now.. and i must say, its genuinely a good phone. It is a lag free phone, battery life is quite OK,even when WiFi is OFF,.primary camera is great though i am bit disappointed with the secondary cam considering its good resolution. My take would be 8.5/10.

I have been using 820S for 10 days now...and am facing a huge problem with the batter life...it drains very fast from 100% to 80% in less than 15 minutes...WiFi is OFF...Mobile Data is ON...NO EXCESSIVE USAGE...NO GAMES.
Also, the SPEAKERS SOUND is too LOW compared for example to my previous mobile "Sony Xperia NEO V"!!!!!

A solid mid ranger!. Woks very smoothly and lag free. Good display, Good sound quality, Good design and build quality.
There are few disspointments I faced using this handset.
1. Camera is not that great. Images lack details.( but macro shots are decent)
2. HTC sense is missing. So there are no gestures like flip to mute, double tap to wake etc. And it hasn't HTC sense camera interface, it has the stock android camera ui.
3. Back easily gets figerprints. Feel slippery when hands are sweaty.
4 Battery back-up is average.
Other than that htc desire 820s is an awesome handset.

The phone is very good in general , but the main problem is in the battery which DRAINS very fast when net is used , the battery should be at least 4000 mAH

i have d820s more than 3months and i swear this is the best midrange.it's 64bit processor with very strong gpu in midrange and there is no stronger cpu and gpu in this range of market,camera is good enough and is killer of other midrange and wins experia all c and t series.every thiong are ok and the battery back up is average for those huge cpu and gpu the battery stand like a lion. i play more than 3h clash with 40% of screen light in auto mode. i ignore the sound quality it is really perfect and just one series are better.go for htc desure 820s.

i bought the phone onl9 and in a week its chrging slot got heated n damaged and my phone went to mumbai htc care and from a month i am phoneless

I bought this mobile from Flipkart 3 months ago. So far I didn't face any problems. As others already mentioned, the camera is a little bit disappointing for its pixel. Apart from that everything is good. My rating: 8/10
