HTC First gets unveiled for AT&T in the United States
After making a couple of appearances prior to its announcement, the Facebook-centered HTC First got officially unveiled. The Android smartphone will be available exclusively on AT&T in the United States from next Friday, April 12 for $99.99 with a two-year contract. Pre-orders for the handset kick-off today.
Naturally, the most important feature of the HTC First will be the integration of the freshly announced Facebook Home launcher into its Android OS. Facebook Home is built with your social networking cravings in mind. You can find out more about its features over here.
Hardware-wise, the HTC First features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with a dual-core CPU and a gig of RAM. A 4.3" 720p display, 5MP camera, and access to AT&T's LTE network are also part of the smartphone's specifications. The Android version on tap will be 4.1 Jelly Bean.
In Europe, the HTC First will be offered by Orange and EE in the coming months. No pricing and availability have been set though.
