been using for y monthes ,greatest mobile phone ever, never lags, responseve when it lags or hangs correct its selfe,ie hangs for a while but the amessege pops out to say kill app or wait in case of app & if phone hangs out it will show a whit screen with htc logo and loads the home screen & evry thing, it bootted a cobel or trebil of times but showed amessege tell htc after restart.
low sound, low battery use depend on use, some times under ground it lags connectivity u have to fined a good spot, and wifi signal may be weak, consumes a lot of data plan even on low usage. all aps works on it, good screen better than my friends iphone, i m using an elastic cover and signal never effected. good ui respons, what else can i say!

Then you let the tool install custom recovery, flash a ROM and you're set

That would be your best bet. I didn't find it lagged anyway, you might have an app that is resource hogging

Little ram and internal memory. You'll probably never get an OS upgrade from them.
I chose the incredible s over the desire s, though they are both fantastic
