currently the best handset in the market now by a mile; in terms of user friendlyness, battery life and overall experience(rarely lags, blazing internet speed). WIll recommend it to whoever is deciding between this or iphone 4 or se arc or even sensation.

Souldig, 17 Jul 2011Wat phone shld i buy HTC Incredible S or HTC Sensation??
i... moreI'd read many reviews on Incredible S and Sensation. Most reviews said Sensation consume battery faster than Iphone. So i think Incredible S is better.
I'm struggling to consider whether i should get Samsung I9100 or Incredible S. Any feedback is welcome =)

The only thing I don't like about this phone is I couldn't find a leather case for it (too new at the time) and the volume control on the side. The volume control is pretty much invisible and I often find myself adjusting it by mistake.
It once caused a problem when my wife used the phone and adjusted the volume all the way down to 'mute'...
Apart from that it's been great. Smooth, reliable and generally OK. Be aware though that the speed and accuracy of the GPS is almost entirely down to your telcom provider. Without good cell coverage the GPS sensor is lost among tall buildings in a city, rendering it useless on a recent trip to KL.
That's another thing, but not specific to this phone - Android is a battery hog and will cost you a fortune abroad as it's forever accessing the net, forcing you to continue using Airplane mode after landing. With my old Samsung and my wife's Nokia we could just pop a couple of local sim cards in to keep in touch with each other. You can't really do that with this, as it resets the entire phone, you lose access to all games, software or book purchases, can't sign into anything... If you're going abroad just leave it at home and take a cheap phone, as it's not worth the hassle. Ironically one of it's features is it sets the time for you, as it automatically knows what time zone it's in.
How?
By accessing the net... Seriously, unless you're mega rich and consider mobile roaming charges to be affordable, leave it at home. Many Android applications will switch on the net access automatically. This is very much a phone that needs and expects an always-on data service. Without it, it's a bit of a brick, with it abroad it's $70 to $90 a day in roaming charges. Again it's not really the phone's fault, that's Android.
