They put it on a computer and I got it back less than 5 mins later. There may be am easier way but that was the route I took.

Go to menu-settings-wireless and network and turn off the internet

ahad, 29 Apr 2012htc inspire 4G first thing, thr z nothing 4G in this set,o... moreYou are absolutely right. I am also regretting primarily due to its non compliance with 3G frequencies in India. Apart from this fact battery is also of lower rating. I wonder why a reputed brand like HTC has decided to kill the potential of this wonderful handset by packing in a low rating battery!! I think at least this kind of bottlenecks can easily be taken care of by the company.

I got the Inspire when it was first released and was AT&T's first HTC phone. It was awesome at first because it was going to be my first touch-screen-smart-phone in the world--I seriously went from being caveman-MOTOROLA SLIVER [for 6 years] to an HTC Inspire!
The phone has its' ups and downs, like any other phone would and not to mention that 'everything' electronic/digital in today's era is manufactured to fail us--some sooner, some later [but will fail us one way or another] because this is how the game works. It's the only way phone and electronic device companies can keep up with the current world's indefinitely worsening competition: what we want, as consumers are products that could last, if not until forever, then close to it--but, what the device companies DO is manufacture things that they only put in %50-%60 the effort and resources; thus, causing us to go back to them to either pay for the repair$ or to pay for another phone, sooner or later.
Considering what I mentioned here, "is choosing the Inspire a good or a bad idea" would be the wrong question to ask because no matter how many cooler/different phones these companies are going to mass produce, they're all going to have similar fates at one point so the better thing to ask is, "what is the general life expectancy of this phone?"

Have been using this phone since December and it's been excellent. Just last week, it went off on its own and after switching on, I got a message from HTC that an unusual error occurred and that I should report to HTC. I did that and two hours after, the phone went off again while not in use and since then it has refused to power on. It keeps trying to boot but end up not booting or starting. Can someone please help on this.
Am in Nigeria.
