Bagoes, 21 Feb 2009they made too much on its named.... why its called 4G anyw... morebagoes, first off, the phone's name says 4g because its meant for the 4g network, and if you do a little research on it, its made specifically for the yota network in russia, secondly its a great phone (personal opinion, it meets most of my requirements and on top of that points for style) lastly just because its not sold in indonesia doesnt mean anything, indonesia is not the capital/center of the world (and definitely not technology wise)

I see you aren't a very well read person and your Intel leaves much to be desired. 4G actually exists. Vodafone Malta currently offers it's fixed internet service to homes via WiMax. They give you a box which connects to their infrastructure via 4G (no telephones/coax cable here) and you have an awesome internet service reaching lovely speeds. VM currently does not offer WiMaX to it's cellular network but it probably will in the future.

                  Please HTC,

Port this thing to 2G/3G, get the specs more in line with the current/next gen of handsets, and release it as soon as possible.

This is the only "bulky" mobile I would consider buying. The size ratios of screen to casing are perfect. No ugly rounded corners, beautifully sloped sides, and even nice call button design. Would be nice if they scaled the overall size back a little bit to make it more pocket friendly, but I won't complain as long as it is made available to a wider audience.

Hopefully the demand for this design is recognized.

confused, 16 Feb 2009Hi, can you tell me what the basic difference is between a ... more2G/2.5G - GSM/GPRS/EDGE
                    3G/3.5G - WCDMA (HSDPA/HSPA+)
                    4G LTE/WiMAX

WCDMA is a technology that evolved out of GSM, but is not backwards compatible with GSM. You need the two technologies built into your device to be able to switch between GSM and WCDMA.
So in order to have a device switching between 4G and 3G you need both technologies available in a device, especially when WiMax is used for 4G. I'm uncertain how backwards compatible LTE will be with WCDMA, but from what I've read it is not at this stage.

The "Generation" naming convention is not indicating how technologies are related, but rather the performance (speeds) and properties of such technologies.

2G and 3G can also be used for PHS and CDMA networks, which again are completely different technology to GSM.

cdma and wmax are completely diferent and seperated technologies, if we call to cdma technology as named as for exmp. "apple", wimax will be named as for exmp. again "melon" . so it is stupid behaveor to say apple version melon or melon version apple.... dont be silly.

Just like you cannot use 2G if your phone only supports 3G. When will you people understand that 2G, 3G and 4G are separate technologies.

To support 3G, it needs WCDMA built in. This doesn't come with WCDMA.

They should make a CDMA/Wi-Max version for Sprint here in the US since Sprint has a Wi-Max network.
