Previously it is declared that its cost will be less than M8, but price group shows that it is costly than M8. What says HTC regarding the pricing of E8?

I think HTC should have the production plant here in India and must start making devices here and also it should setup it's research and development labs here. They have huge opportunity and there main strength is the quality of hardware and software. They might think to release this e8 device as it will affect the sales of m8 and desire series. I don't know what is there call for India market in specific. Strange.

bhavya, 02 Jul 2014can you please tell me how can i do thisThe easiest way to import would be through Taobao via Taobao agent (there will be fees, of course). Step by step:

            1. Go to www.taobao.com, search for "HTC E8".
            2. You will see a lot of E8's probably anywhere from 2799 to 2999 RMB depending on the seller. Pick one, and copy the URL for the listing.
            3. Go to Google and find a Taobao agent that will ship to India. I did a quick search and came up with http://taobaofocus.com/ and http://www.bhiner.com/, the later I'm not sure if ships to India but taobaofocus says they ship to India.
            4. On these Taobao agent sites, you can paste the URL you copied from taobao and it should translate the listing for you. From here, you can continue to buy the item through the taobao agents website in English.

The above taobao agents were a result of a quick search, I have no experience and am not endorsing or recommending them. Use at your own risk. And most important if you do buy a E8 this way, make sure you get the China Unicom version (FDD-LTE/TD-LTE/WCDMA/GSM ) because the China Mobile version 3G/4G will only work in China. Last, because these are Chinese phones you also must understand they won't come with Google Play installed albeit other possible caveats! (such as language options)

Anonymous, 02 Jul 2014dude you are so misinformed......check htc website....http:... moreCongratulations you found a *press release* in English which is usually a requirement of publicly operated companies but it's in English non the less, so I'll award you one point. The actual launch announcement/event was in Beijing, in Chinese, for Chinese. I don't have the time (obviously you do) but I'm sure if you check all of HTC's various regional websites you won't find the E8 under the "smartphones" category except for the Chinese one (not even the HK site has it).

You guys can blah blah blah all you want but it's not going to change anything. My advice regarding importing is still probably the best.

It was announced in Beijing, in Chinese, for the Chinese market. It's only because the magic of the internet and news sites like GSMArena that you even know this phone exists. HTC never announced this phone to the world.

My comment stands; if you really want one, import one. 2999 RMB in China is basically 29,500 INR, add shipping and import taxes, done.

The E8 is available, I'm seen it with my own two eyes. HTC didn't do some huge world wide press event (like they did for the M8) to announce the E8, they did a little press event in Beijing signifying it would be initially only be released in China. And so what? A lot of phones are released country specific; the Galaxy Round and LG VU series are exclusive to South Korea while the S5 Active is exclusive to the US. And Japan gets a whole bunch of awesome phones you don't even know about because lack of press coverage outside of Japan.

You guys need to stop whining and buy your next phone already. Of course there is always a chance they will launch it in your country. If you want to put your money where you mouth is you'd import an E8 for yourself and then you would at least have bragging rights amongst your friends.
