AnonD-409174, 25 Jun 2015For me the standby drain is like 1% per hour Stand by time for me is 3-4% drain overnight(in 2G)....Many times if battery is low (less than 30), I would switch to EXTREME POWER SAVER MODE where only 1% drop was observed. Sometimes the battery per cent dint even change. Last day i slept at 11pm with 29% battery and switched on EPS mode. Today morning at 7am, still 29%

I've been a long term htc user, ever since my first smartphone with their Desire line ups I knew that htc would keep to their quality, even when the material is made from plastic, it still feels premium.

Let's talk about design, this phone is made of plastic, although slight variations of coating and processes made it look like metal, it still has a full plastic body. It comes in 3 colours, and for now is only available on Asian markets (China, India, Taiwan, Hong Kong) slight variations might be present for different regions (13Mp front camera vs 4Ultra pixel) The screen size is 5.5" at 2k resolution, although the navigation buttons do take up at least .5" from the bottom so you're only left with 5" of screen estate on most screens, of course it hides away when you have full screen apps. Although some games retain the buttons for ease of access.

Features, now this phone is very minimal in terms of features. But coming from a One m7, One Max I find that compromising some features might actually be a lot more elegant move for the desire line up. There is no infrared blaster, compared to the One m series, no fingerprint reader, and as far as I have tried, no wireless charging either, although easily remedied if you are willing to sacrifice the microUSB port for an add on wireless charging pad. The back camera is a 20Mp, front varies, but I have the 4Up version, and having used it since the M7 I can tell you it was definitely a smart move for HTC to move it to the front instead!

There are 2 slots for nanoSIMS, note NANO not micro, I had not realised this until I bought the phone and had gone a day without using it as my primary phone! MicroSD slot, I am using the 128gb SanDisk and it is working without problems even hotswapping from my HTC One Max.

The screen is immaculate, 1080p is probably already overkill, let alone 2k, games run perfectly, I have FFI installed and it ran pretty smooth for the first 1:30h then the phone got a bit hot and started stuttering on the background music. But that's normal in terms of CPU heating and power preserving so I didn't mind. As far as day to day tasks go, lollipop runs smooth as butter on this device, and I haven't had any hiccups, even after porting and installing 170+ apps.

Dot View, I highly recommend getting one of these covers as they are very useful for checking your phone without having to turn the screen on, especially with a high resolution display. One tip though, I have the glass screen protector on mine, and that gives the screen added bulk, the dot view case actually fits very snuggly with the phone so because of my screen protector, the dot part of the case is slightly raised. So be warned, either use the case without a screen protector or one that's really thin.

Sound, I haven't tried blasting this at the beach or party yet, but comparing it to my One Max, it is as loud. With Dolby surround sound it adds to the depth and does sound better. I barely use headphones now since I find it easier toy just blast it from the speakers when at home, I can hear my music clearly even from the living about 20m away from my room, though bare in mind I was alone in the house.

Battery, this has plagued me since I am downgrading from a 3300mah battery of my One Max. My One Max lasted me a whole day and then some, even when surfing the internet with 4G enabled. I have to admit, I was always checking the battery life every few minutes or so because of the shrinkage to 2800mah that the E9+ has. But rest assured, unless you are constantly on the internet 4 hours straight and running a lot of apps in the background (Facebook, Instagram, chat apps, mail) then you should at least be able to last through the day. My one real day usage was like this:
          6am Unplugged, 100%
9am Left the house 89% while using the phone on and off at home
10am Got to the bank, looked up some info online 86%
1pm 78% after using GPs and maps to find my way around
3pm 68% while still trying to look for info for the bank, so about 2 hours of constant internet searching
          4pm 50% when I got home
7pm 35% when I last plugged into the power.
Charging is quite fast, about just over an hour to get from 35% to 75% and then it starts to crawl a little, but overnight should be fine.

If you leave the screen off it does drain the battery at about 1% per quarter of an hour
Typically, the phone will last a full 8 hour day of usage, but if you're like me who gets up early 5-6am and doesn't come home till about 7-8pm, you might want to leave power saving mode on the whole time, and/or bring with you an external battery pack/ USB wall charger.

Verdict, This phone has not disappointed me so far, even with some glitches it still is a major mid ranged premium and a decent upgrade even for my One M series (m7 and m7Max) perhaps the logical move is updating your phone every 2 years, that way your old phone is just powerful enough to run the newer software but you will benefit from a newer device with newer features. If you still have an M7 or any 2013 line up or older, this phone will be a good upgrade. If you have the M8 or M9 or anything around the same year line up, I would say hold out for the next refresh, you might not see much difference in terms of performance and features.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask! Cheers!

mukesh rajpurohit, 24 Jun 2015Friends just one question e9+ or note 4 which one is best..... morei have e9+ and i have used note4. note 4 is big and heavy compared to e9+. both have similar spec but note 4 has S pen function if u use it much u may find it useful. battery is better in note 4. audio is better in e9+.regarding display though both the display is Qhd, the note 4 display has traditional yellowish green hue, whereas e9+ shows natural colour. so if u like more vibrant hue u can choose note 4 or else e9+. i hate that hue in note 4 and hence i gone with e9+. added to that this is HTC and you will get Sense UI. so its all between the requirement which u choose and compromise. holding note 4 u will find it difficult , but in e9+ its easy but one thing to notice is that e9+ is 64 bit whereas note 4 is 32 bit, hence e9+ is future proof and android M it may support .

AnonD-392500, 23 Jun 2015Can it play HD games smoothly? I am worried about it's gpu ... moreBoth CPU n GPU are from MediaTek, as far as I know... I am not an intense gamer... But I have tried games, in specific, HITMAN SNIPER, LEO'S FORTUNE and BADLAND... They ran very smoothly and I switched other applications while I was playing these games.. Experienced no lag... I have downloaded Modern Combat 4 and Call of duty strike team... I dont even know whether I wanna play those.. If I do will give an update..
