Turns out the HTC One M9 pattern lock is NOT easy to bypass

As Abraham Lincoln famously said, "don't trust everything you read on the Internet." Yesterday I reported on an apparent bug that allowed people to bypass pattern lock screen on the HTC One M9 just by toggling Wi-Fi. Well, it turns out that just doesn’t work.

As many of you reported, the M9 does not bypass the lockscreen when Wi-Fi state changes. HTC also got in touch with us and says its engineering team determined that the ROM used in the video is not stock. They also tried replicating the issue, but couldn’t find anything wrong.

So, sorry about the scare, the pattern lock will keep your HTC One M9 safe.
