HTC Radiant image leaks, looks like Titan with LTE

04 January, 2012

We first heard about the HTC Radiant when a rumor of two AT&T-bound phones with LTE connectivity made the rounds. Now there's an image to go with the rumor, plus a few hints on specs.

The HTC Radiant looks a lot like the Titan, but the back is different. It's made up of three pieces rather than two and the dual-LED flash is on the side of the 3.5mm audio jack (where the loudspeaker was on the Titan).

It will supposedly keep the 4.7" screen size, but a higher resolution than WVGA is unlikely - the Tango update for Windows Phone that brings LTE will add a new resolution option, but the current understanding is that it will be a lower resolution for affordable phones.

Reportedly, the battery in the HTC Radiant will be non-removable (unlike the Titan). Microsoft has stated that they're waiting for power-efficient chipsets that can do LTE, so the Radiant shouldn’t take a hit when it comes to battery life, but we have nothing on battery capacity.

Anyway, the Radiant is supposed to launch at CES (which starts this Sunday), so we'll find out more about it soon. It's rumored to go to AT&T's new LTE network, but also head to Telstra Australia.

LTE is a new technology that will replace 3G, because it has a much higher speed of transmission, but depending on the country, the standard can be adopted Wimax. But the two 4G technologies are considered.
