I don't know why everybody is asking if it is a phone or not!!!!!!!!
kindly look at these 2 sentence in the specs please... I'm begging you people pls read!!!

well, if it has a VGA camera for video calls then i would assume that you able to also make calls...

23 Pages of comments since march last year asking if this device can be used as a phone or wether it is a phone. Truth be told I don't know.

Hi... Can everyone tell, is this phone? I heard the seller told that I cannot receive and making call. Is it tiny laptop or mobile phone?

Forgot to mention. When you put in your sim card you cant make or receive calls but u can texts and email. It automatically find the settings for the network and once thats sorted you can browse the net through that in Vista

Ive have one of these to evaluate for college. Pretty nice and to say its got vista on there it runs smoothly. Its got both vista and Win Mobile and they both sync with each other. Only thing is that when you shut down Vista, the mobile side of it is still active which runs down the battery quite quickly. I have to remove the battery and put it back in to switch it off totally. Using the touch pad can takes a lil getting used to. It gets hot to quick and the F11 key is missing which is awkward when you want to go full screen when browsing the net.

This GSMAREANA website Administrators have to correct the specification about Shift they have Only metioned its windows Mobile 6.0 and windows vista. but this is not windows mobole 6.0 its a limited version called SNAPVUE.. which doesn't support bluetooth, wifi or call function in SNAPVUE...

I also thought it have voice fuction as GSM Areana it metioned Windows Mobile 6.0 and Windows Vista this is a marketing game. This phone doesn't support phone function to all operators. Actually they have created a limited verion of Windows mobile 6 named as Snapvue. So to all who says it can make calls in Snapvue I BET....

Dustin Vogel, 04 Jun 2008it's NOT a phone. You can NOT call with it.well you cant from the normal mode but if you go into vista you can do anything you can on a normal pc hence you could install something like skype and hey presto its a phone!
