This is my personal opinion, This phone does what its intended to do and does it perfectly well. Audio is clear and good, Videos are good, Good Widgets, GUI looks great, Good presentation and lots more.... on the whole good value for money, for Rs: 6700/= i cannot expect Apple Iphone or Adriod based phones, This is good.
Negatives:
Brew OS doesn't have many games or Apps available on the web.
Video player has few issues, the video seek bar or progress bar doesn't show video more than ~40mins of play,
The mobile switches off automatically while watching videos, for reason unknown.
Camera may be a issue, coz its a fixed focus rather than a auto focus.

This is a very good phone. So far it has served me well. Everything that I need is featured int his phone. It is the simpliest way to get connected.
Every phone has a feature fit to its user. So if some guys tell you not to buy a particular handset its because they are dumb enough to know what they need. And some of em don't have money to buy even a cheap one.

a, 12 Jan 2011hi frnds , i wanna buy this phone bcoz of its low cost just... morethis particular model is not good... u will get it frm any authorised dealer for min rs 7300/-, the company says it has touch,3g & many features but in reality u will get only a touch & good camera for 7300 bucks...can't use of 3g,,... so if can afford to spend 7300 for luks,touch & camera,,go for it....
even i was vry vry attracted to it.. it luks awesum in reality but den i talked to a person who was using it & after hearing his plight & bad experience i decided not to buy it....
if u have same budget go for nokia c5-00 or sum samsung phone & if u can strech it, den go for htc wildfire or sum other phone...many options available for budget upto 12000/-....
now,d decision is urs//....

it really is a dumb phone, not worth the money!!! it doesnt have USB modem, it doesn't have a wi-fi, the in built browser doesn't support video streaming, java engine is slow like hell... and u cannot install any external applications... please do not buy it just for the touch screen!!!

guyz finally got a reliable review of dis phone...
this particular model,htc smart f1388 is a very bad phone...plz plz don't buy dis,,,its sheer wastage of money, apart frm touch screen it hasn't got nything.... service centre ppl will not replace ur cell even its a week old.....

mayank, 06 Jan 2011for how long r u using this phone? is the audio video qual... moredont go for the htc smart ,its brew os is currupt and htc has no solution for this. u cant use it as a modem. its slow ,its a blunder of HTC

i have HTC smart 9826784040 its a bogus fone i dont suggest to buy , lots of drawback only its a touch fone and nothing. applications are currupt every 1-3 days ,when u call for support executive responce is only hard reset your cell. (factory reset). better to go for the samsung 2 sim or nokia brands any fone but not HTC .am using and found its blunder to have a hts product

i m confused between nokia c5 & htc smart f1388..
htc smart is a touch with brilliant looks but does not have secondary camera & gps,, moreover its reveiws r very poor. some says it have a very slow os & poor battery while other says its pretty good..
on d other hand nokia is not enuf good looking but great in features...
although m more inclined towards htc smart because of its brilliant look & trusted brand HTC, BUT IF BASIC FEATURES R POOR,IT WILL BE WASTAGE OF MONEY. so ny1 who is using it(purchased frm sum trusted dealer) & is having prob,,plz tell me... is it so bad dat i shuld compromise on looks & go for nokia c5?
plz help me guyz,which one to buy?
