HTC touch at first seemed like a real nice PDA... but then i jus saw the speed and its as fast as O2's smart phones... O2's atom life is so much faster than this peice of junk. Atom Life's processor is 620. compared to this the Life just beats touch easily in speed

Is the HTC Hermes/cingular 8125 better to have than the Touch. The hermes has a hardkeyboard so is it worth it.

speed wise is a bit slow, but once overclock to 260mhz, it works like any pda.

Here are some benchmark for you F4ps (scroll down toward the bottom). http://www.solopalmari.com/recensioni-hardware/htc-touch-la-recensione-di-solopalmari.-anteprima-asso-6.html

O2 Atom is not on the benchmark but I remember O2 is only a tad slower than HTC 3600. Around 1300 or so.

Its a superb phone, but only one problem i.e. no 3G. Anyways wanna buy it once it is available in mumbai market unlocked. Now only airtel has the rites to sell it here, but soon our guys will find a crack for it here.
                      But its an awesome phone

how slow is the htc touch??

as compare to o2 atoms' processor specs,it is no where near them.

                        can anyone care to share?

This is the best pda phone I've owned thus far. Its a great successor to the HTC Prophet. The Touch-flo is an add on to the OS so it's not going to be as slick as the iPhone, but the iPhone is NOT a smart phone. This has Windows Mobile 6, BT 2.0, WiFi - you name it this little guy has it. And it's all about the size of a Razr! I love it.
Wish they would have made the card access from the outside and maybe one or two more buttons (I like to reprogram mine), but otherwise its perfect for my needs.

I live in Calgary, Canada and bought mine from the UK - it works fine on the Rogers / Fido GSM network. Sound is clear, no reception issues. Speaker is loud and the ring is so loud is scares the heck out of my cube-mates!

If you've been hesitating - don't - go buy this phone!

this phone is available downtown too at a store on college and bathurst. The price is pretty good too! The touch screen makes everything so much more convenient.

A free T9 dial pad is available for download at xda-developers site. The keypad is big enough to input text with your thumb. It's a must-have for every Touch.

Anyone using this phone in the Toronto / GTA area? How is the sound quality of voice calls? Are you on Rogers or Fido? I know the phone is missing the 850 band, but it still has 1900 i think.

                                      FOR PPL IN Toronto/CANADA:

if you want this phone its available in Pacific mall.. I got it two days ago and was comparing it to my bf's HTC S620 and it is soooo much better and more convenient. LOVE THE TOUCH SCREEN AND THE SCREEN FLIP OPTION. Only thing tho.. I can't figure out how to bluetooth files (such as pictures and videos) over the HTCphones..

if anyone knows please let me know at chinky_qtpy02@hotmail.com
