I found a way to set your messages tune volume louder without setting the ringintune louder. ou have to adjust that in the settingsscreen. Tabs > setting > sound. Than you see somewhere in the middle, something as volume control, and 'system' with a range in %. you can set that louder or less louder.

akki, 13 Jul 2010After tabing on "Messages" on HTC sense bar, wher... moreStrange... Is your phone branded, i.e., has it got an "operator designed" software?
Mine is unbranded/free and it states quite cleary under "About":
OS Version
Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional
I'd suggest taking your phone back to the place/store where you've bought it or check it out with a friend who's got the same phone.
If different users have indicated the different ways they do it and proven that it is possible and it is not the phone's fault, there is no doubt you have to check it with whoever sold/upgraded you your phone.
Also, try to read the manual and google for a solution.
Maybe other people have gone through the same and have been able to solve it.
Good Luck with your phone!

Anonymous, 06 Jul 2010Actually, this is probably the best phone on the market as ... moreI had mine TD2 2 weeks and returned it. Major reason was the resistive touch display which I really had problems with, invoking unwanted actions. I really recommend people only to buy phones with capacitive display.
WLAN and phone signal sensitivity not as good as Nokia. And the missing photo-flash makes the photo function useless for a lot of things (like reading bar codes or scanning documents). Relative slow in general and web browser slow and cumbersome.

akki, 12 Jul 2010I did not get the procedure explained below.... nor i found... morehtc sense bar (bottom) > click/touch message icon
>on screen you get "Messages" and you get last message received (black screen).
UNDER htc sense bar (on the bottom of the screen) you get:
on the left bottom "MORE"
on the right bottom "MENU"
Click/Touch "MORE" > you get a (windows-like) screen entitled "Messages" (light grey screen)
on the bootom left you have "BACK"
on the bottom right you have "MENU"
Click / Touch "MENU and you get:
(From top to bottom:) "NEW" - "CLEAN ALL" - ORDER BY" - DEFINITIONS"
So, you'll just have to click/touch "Select All" and ALL your messages will be deleted at once FOR EVER!(remember you're already inside "deleted messages", so all "CLEANING/ERASING" will be permanent)
If you don't see/have these menus I'd suggest you have an operator-branded version or a local-branded version/software and you should check with your local operator.
Good Luck with your phone!

wookie, 11 Jul 2010when you are in the messages tab on the htc sense bar, you ... moreYou are correct!
I've just tried to communicate oher users a safe way to delete multiple messages at once, knowing exactly which messages you are deleting and providing a way to keep any message(s) you want NOT to delete at that time.
I prefer deleting multiple messages simultaneouly while being able to keep (for the time being) any msg I choose (NOT to delete)...
But, it is true that your method is much easier, less complicated and, obviously, faster! :)
Thank you for the help and feedback provided.
Good Luck with your phone!

when you are in the messages tab on the htc sense bar, you have to click 'more' > menu > delete > menu > select all > ok. This is the only way I know it will be the fastes way to delete all in 1 time instead of select all messages saperatly.

akki, 10 Jul 2010that is wat i am telling that there is no option to "S... more- Yes, there is.
On the scrolling bar you select "messages", it shows the last message you've received.
Then, you click on "MORE." (bottom left - opposite to "menu")
In the Upper Menu you click "Sent Items" or "Deleted Items" (wherever you keep the messages you want to delete) and it scrolls down all folders (similar to any Outloo-like PC programme)> there, you can select "Received", "Sent" or "Deleted Items".
Now, you see ALL selected folder's (sent/deleted, etc.) Messages.
You click MENU and choose "Eliminate/Delete Messages" and you see a small box in front of ALL your messages.
You tick ALL BOXES (a red X appears) and you'll DELETE ALL messages.
> If you do this on "Sent Items", you'll send selected messages (ALL of them, if you wish), at once to "deleted items".
> If you do this on "Deleted Items" you will eliminate/erase ALL your mesages permanently.
Hope it has helped.
Good luck with your phone.

I tried and tried but I cannot delete all messages with just 1 or 2 clicks. Everytime you have to select the sms messages you want to delete. Does other HTC WM phones have the same problem? Like HTC HD Mini? If so, I am afraid that there isn't any other solution than what we have right now. My Nokia 6610 can, just press menu and delete all messages. But this phone can't:(:(:( I had like 100 messages I wanted to delete.

Actually, this is probably the best phone on the market as far as price / ratio is concerned.
Its price has gone down considerably and it is a handy phone, not too bulky, with a brilliant and vivid high resolution screen, full of great specs which will stand the test of time.
Obviously, This is not the world's best phone.
Better phones are constantly coming out, so you have to make your decisions according to the moment when you're buying and the money you're willing to spend on a phone.
That is why this phone is great.
It simply is a GREAT phone. The sound is loud and clear on all occasions, but I recognise it should have a 3.5mm audio jack and that is a serious fault, but other than that, it does everything you need, it allows you to take photos and videos, watch your movies, enjoy your songs and use GPS, all in a very handy "package".
I know it does not have a flash, but my camera does.
Phone Flashes are rubbish: too short, too narrow and underpowered to be any good. That is why most people end up showing them off as small flashlights.
Trashing a phone because it does not have a "flash"/light on it, just isn't serious.
So, let's move on to serious business:
As I've mentioned, the screen is great and you have lots of different types of software to load...
So, as far as software and OS are concerned, it accepts 16GB cards, meaning you've got LOTS & LOTS of compatible applications, games and GPS Programmes you can use/install/download... and,
the last, but by no means, the least, you've got...
http://wiki.xda-developers.com...me =HTC_Topaz
... where you can exchange experiences, opinions, learn A LOT and personalise your phone in a way you can't imagine! :)
That is why I own a Diamond2 and I'm really very happy with it!!!

Fight 4 Your Right, 27 May 2010I bought this hphone on xx/04/2010, I trade in with Nokia..... moreI fully agree with you. This phone is a piece of shit. After 3 months of using I had to give it back because the sound it's pretty lousy and I can only use it with headphones on, the phone start dialing the last number without touching it. It's pretty difficult to use and to find what you want since you have the option of using phone options or windows options and many are double. I got lost and I wanted to use the GPS and it was loading the page for 30 minutes and at the end I turned it off. My recommendation, DON'T BUY THIS PHONE if you don't want to be as piss as I am.
