The original version (in Europe?) did not have the 3.5MM headphone jack but the later ones do. Mine is from Telus in Canada.
I like this phone a lot. I look at the new phones that come out and it seems I am always looking at what I would have to give up to switch.
My one disappointment is that Telus said they would be upgrading it to WinMo 6.5 and never did. It's one of the reasons I picked this phone. I think most carriers have upgraded theirs. Not sure why Telus left us out in the cold.

Forget tethering. There's a way around it that works beautifully. Just get the Windows Mobile WiFi Router. Google it. It's cheap and works perfectly. I use it with my laptop when I am at the cottage. I leave the phone on the charger though so it doesn't drain the battery.

Just have a small question and need help from you plz, as I've HTC Touch Pro 2, and I need to disable the vibration when receiving sms, how can I do this and from which menue and what to choose. Thanks in advance for your assistance

Neilos, 24 Aug 2010We're in the throws of upgrading and not sure whther to go ... moreThe HTC desire is a very good phone i have had it for a few mounths now and nothing bad has happens as i have downloaded a few more apps i t got a little bit slower but i added more memory and it was back to normall. i dont know anyone with the HTC touch pro 2 but it looks a good phone i am thinking of buying it although some o the comments arnt as good as i would like them to be. People are saying that it is slow, hard to use, and freezes alot so i think you should get the htc desire phone it is good :D

i really like the lok of the htc pro 2 but i am not so sure because i have read some bad rewiews people saying how it freezes all the time and switches off. I know that htc is a good brand because my sister has a htc desire and it is also a good phone; she has had her phone for a couple of mounths now and i know that her phone hasnt brocken (but the charger did blow up) :S probably a bad example but i want to know weather the problems should stop me buying this phone ?? :D

I love the tilt aspect of this phone. Great for watching movies. Are there any upcoming HTC phones expected to have this ?

while talking unfortunately sometimes enters other programs in the start menu!even sometimes changes to airplane mode and turns off the phone...otherwise not bad...

Because I needed Windows Mobile for a certain program I use for work, I went with the TP2. Great phone! If you're using it more for work than play, this is a great choice. Even for play it's more than adequate for me. I just added a 16GB microSD card last night to give me some more options. My only regret so far is that my Palm Treo allowed me to use the phone as a tethered modem without paying more. While that feature is still possible with the TP2, I think I might have to pay Sprint more a month to use it...haven't called to be sure yet

HTC should have incorporate 35mm headphone jack just like their CDMA counterpart did... that would have make this a perfect phone with its full qwerty keyboard...

Hi! I'm currently selecting between HTC Touch Pro2 and HTC Touch 2 phone. Can someone tell me which one is better. Based from specs I can say that it's the HTC Touch Pro2 but I'm a little worried about the sliding ribbon. Also, what are the pros and cons of both phones? Please help me decide. Thanks a lot!
