HTC U Ultra arrives in Canada, can be yours for CAD 999

Vlad, 20 March 2017

The HTC U Ultra is now available to purchase in Canada. You can grab one from HTC's official online store for the country, and three color versions are available: black, white, and blue.

The price for an unlocked unit is CAD 999. That translates almost exactly into US$749, which is the amount HTC charges for the phone in the States. So that is anything but unexpected, though it remains to be seen just how many handsets HTC is able to move at these prices.

You can add a pair of JBL Reflect Aware C headphones to your order for just CAD 134.99, half off their normal price of CAD 269.99. These come in white or black and connect through the U Ultra's USB Type-C port, which is useful since the phone doesn't have a 3.5mm audio jack. If you'd like a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter instead, that will cost you CAD 16.99.

No one in their right mind will pay that much for a device that will be obsolete inside of a year.

Just get and S7 edge or even a OnePlus 3T. Both cheaper and clearly better than this mess by HTC.
