hi friends just wanted to know how is it possible to stop apps running in the back ground
i have installed advance task killer & also used the setting to stop them but they somehow restart after a while
as i am new to andriod i dont exactly know how to stop them permanently

I am using atrix 4G for the 1years 3months. really addicted to it...

I came from a Motorola Atrix 4G which was a nightmare (random restarts, broken sound, dropping calls like crazy all sorts of weird stuff). But this HTC Vivid has been flawless. Does tend to chew through a battery but charging it nightly and maybe a quick pickup charge at my desk at work and it's good to go. I'm eligible for an upgrade but there nothing out there that blows this away yet IMO.

Phone is garbage going into 3rd phone in less than forty days. Supposedly one x is better but after reading specs I don't know vivid had had great features but my two had a mind of its own. Very unreliable unless you live in a metro area even then the ghost in the machine would appear just not as often.

Armstrong, 10 Sep 2012how to upgrade the from Android OS, v2.3.4 (Gingerbread) to... moreAT&T website. google it. download it. run it. simple :D you should go ahead and root it and install the custom ics bootloader while you're on the verge of wiping your phone. it's nice x3 there's no overclock, seeing as how you already have 2.0+ghz clocked on this phone, but still.

I totally agreed with Tiger's comments regarding this unnoticed giant HTC Vivid. Amazing experience especially after ICS upgrade. Its performance improved alot.
I have been using this device for last 2 months & satisfied with its performance so far.
Those who demands more effective battery performance please download Juice defender from play store & see the difference.
I must say HTC Vivid is 1 step ahead on Samsung Galaxy S2 with its performance in every area.
