HG730 seems fine phone. But lacks an important
features Like 3G 4G. It only works 2G. Dear yasir I hope
u are outside Ethiopia, because it doesn't work 3G
network here in. The phone built with SCDMA but
ethiotel support3G with WCDMA. If u can help me here

bogsi, 27 May 2015this device is no supporting 3g in Ethiopia what I can do It support 3g first send sms for ethio telecom 825 write 3g send then they verify and send you sms to configure your phone. It works for me.

Worst phone you could possibly buy.
Please, don't be cheap like me. Save your money and buy a phone thats nearer the $300 price range.
This phone works so infrequently, that I forget when it is on silent! I swear it does not ring most of the time (hence why I miss calls), and although I hear/feel the message that I missed a call/someone left a voice,ail message, I can not ring them back with out restarting the phone. Same goes with replying to texts at least 50% of the time.
The troubles really started when it would switch itself to safe mode for no reason, in the first few months. I still do not understand what safe mode is or why it would randomly do that.
Back to texting...good luck typing an entire text without the message app randomly closing on you-5 letters into a text was as far as I got before it shut...
Multitasking is not recommended-the phone usually freezes. Once, it even went black when I started to record a video. Sound was working (I could hear the blips as I altered the volume), but nothing aould display on screen. I didnt know the video had worked, but I found a 16 minute video that was recorded as I wrestled to get the phone from its case, the back off the phone, and the battery out then in.
It ks not the first time I have had to remove the battery to fix something. One night, when I had to restart my phone to reply to a text I just received, it got stuck in a retstart loop for 20mins. Everytime the unlock page appeared, it would restart.
I was defiant and determined to make this $150 phone work. But it is just getting slower (didn't think that was actually possible) and freezing WAY more often than I can handle.
I give in. I'm off to research a new phone. I am not the only one. Young and old alike have abandoned this make. Never again...
One day, if your car breaks down on a country road in the pouring rain and black of night, your untrusty Huawei will give up the ghost for good, and you will be stranded-your family worried sick.
Please, do not buy this phone.

i am so sorry having this garbage huawei mobile and guys use other type of mobile than this bad waste electronics

the battery of Huawei Ascend G730 is not so good, it can only last about 3 hours.

How could you do that?...it's not possible without a code from Huawei to release the lock to use mods or custom roms for this phone...you can get root access but thats not gonna let you use new roms on it.

I finally changed to clockworkmode(CWM) and got the proper root access. I am finally going to enjoy the power of android :D. I can now use custom Roms and many more.
maybe you guys can checkout some YouTube videos and find your answer because I did! If you got trouble contact me at the email below. but I still didn't figure out about 3g issues. I'll let you now if I find anything.
