Because am... moreThe sim card slot is different from the others. So you need to cut yout sim card so it can fit to the sim card slot from huawei.
There's tool to cut the sim card.
Try ask the store employee from huawei in your country.

Does the back cover of huawei ascend mate open?
Because am in Kenya,i can`t get my sim card go into the sim card slot on the top of the phone. Could it be that i have it wrongly placed or it`s not compatible with our country`s sim cards? Please urgently advise

If you long press home button, google search appears.
You need to drag home to top (where google is written )and you goto google search.
You need to press home only once and quick for home button to respond. Only if you long press google search appears.
Its a default function in Ascend mate. ( i am using huawei ascend mate for last 6 months )

I have a strange problem with my Ascend Mate. Three circles appear, randomly, from below the home button with google written in the top circle. After a while, the home, return and recent applications buttons will not work in portrait mode. It works in landscape mode.
Factory reset did not solve it. Keeping the phone off for a few days sometimes make it work again. Anyone aware of this problem? Anyone got a solution for this?

I have been using this phone for a year now, since May 2013. The phone is perfect in every way except if you are going to use it in hot sunny environments. When i open the GPS and #G Data together to look up maps while i'm out the batter starts heating up tremendously and in half an hour it just shuts itself down and reboots and keeps rebooting till i close it completely and leave it to cool down for an hour or so. Yesterday after i charged it fully i opened the Data to access Facebook and the battery started swelling again, it rebooted 5 times simultaneously, then finally shut down and wont power up again! Have to take it to service.

Have the Mate here now several months also, super device would buy another right away, only bad thing the Bluetooth 4.0 version is not working with my old Parrot handsfree kit in the car , the old Nokia BH212 ear Bluetooth works as a charm with it, never another , or maybe one with 4G :-)
