The best low-budget smart phone I could find. Has a dual core processor and 1 GB RAM which make Android 4.2 comfortably fast. An clear improvement over my older Orange Monte Carlo (ZTE Skate).

Yes u can take picture, it is verry usfull for me. go and buy. this is the best cellphone in this price. i have this phone 2 weak, it has a powerfull Cpu :) GL

since the huawei y300 has a front camera , are you able to take pictures using it or does the front camera only work for video calling etc?

already buy its yesterday. for me its a gud budget android phone. before im buying this phone i reads a lots reviews n i found this site much people talking bout this phone. i hv 2 choice a phone #Huawei y300 or Lenovo p390 available at my country . same spec n price but p390 still run ics n y300 latest jelly bean. i decide to buy y300. now i try answering a few question from prev forumer question below after 24 hours y300 user. #this phone run single sim card, ( mobogenie syn detected this phone version is y300-0100 ), mobogenie detect only 2 gb internal memories but i think this phone hidden more 2gb like my kids cheapo china tabs, half for app n half for file( music , video, etc). internet running fast under hsdpa speed. loud speaker sound #slow# ( maybe i change its after warranty ends), batt life not too long with hsdpa, wechat, whatsapp active. ( np can use external batt or after market batt). Bluetooth stereo headset pairing run smooth n flawless. downloading still hanging but can continue (np for me), camera 5mp auto focus, use camera 360 app more powerful then stock app. others thing run smooth. btw i like nice jelly bean o/s :)

My boyfriend baught me this fone as an early crimbo pressie and it is awsome.
you can take screenshots of messages,home screen etc to share on social networking sites etc,plays games that alot of the other 'budget' fones aren't compatible with,has a scratch resistent screen,can be used as a wifi router for the PC and generally is ace,takes a little bit of getting used to as it seems to be the wrong way around-the volume buttons are on the right side and the power button is on the top left sugesting that it is a right-handed fone. its not very comfy if you have small hands or mild arthritis as it's quite a big fone but the advantage of that is a nice big screen! camera quallity is great as is the video quallity, watching youtube etc the picture is clear and the sound is crisp,playing games an using the web is easy,there is no stalling or page disruptions while loading and a fast response with or without using the wifi.
the battery consumption isn't great but it's passible.
overall I'd say 8/10 for quallity,design and usage.

This is a very nice phone! I bought it for my gf especially for the front camera so we can make skype calls, it also doubles as a nice mirror. I think the Dual Core Processor makes up for the 512 RAM. one thing I've noticed though is that the battery got warm to a temp of 40 degrees after much use (wifi, facebook, youtube, etc.) However its a ver good phone for the price, makes me want to upgrade from my phone as well.

Amazing phone in this price ..... very good for normal users.....over all it is better then all locale and samsung star type phones

i had the same trouble with the y300
cutting out half way thru downloads
you need to enable
always on mobile data (for some reason) and that will fix your problem

its perfectly fine but can anyone please teach how to remove the vibration when you type or text? i was able to remove it for notifications and call as well as receiving messages but when i type its still vibrating.
