Huawei Band 6 is now official
After a bit of a pause since the announcement of the Huawei Band 4 in 2019, Huawei is now ready with an update. The company is skipping number 5 and is jumping straight to 6. We'll just leave it up to you to decide whether that or the company's timing have something to do with Xiaomi's recent announcement of the Mi Band 6.
First things first, at 1.47 inches and 194 x 368 pixels, the AMOLED display on the Huawei Band 6 is a big step up from the 0.96-icnh LCD unit on the Huawei Band 4. 148% larger, to be exact. Huawei promises a huge variety of watch faces, available via the Watch Face Store app. The new design also features very slim bezels and a 64% screen to body ratio. Though, unlike Xiaomi, Huawei still went for a more traditional rectangular form factor, instead of a pill shape.

The Huawei Band 6 weighs just 18 grams (without the strap). It's body measures 43x25.4x10.99mm, has a single side button for navigation and is rated for 5ATM water resistance. Battery life is rated at up to two weeks of regular use or 10 days of heavy use and charging is done via a magnetic charger. Huawei also mentions that just 5 minutes of charging should get you enough juice for 2 days of operation.

In terms of sensors, the Huawei Band 6 will offer continuous blood oxygen monitoring, which is a first for the line. Also, TruSeen 4.0 heart rate monitoring, TruSleep 2.0 sleep monitoring and TruRelax 2.0 pressure monitoring. It will also monitor heart health and screen for sleep apnea risks.
In terms of activity tracking, the Huawei Band 6 will support 96 different sports modes. Other additional features include the standard notification, call and message alerts from a connected phone, as well as a remote camera shutter and music playback controls.
The Huawei Band 6 comes in a total of four colors - Amber Sunrise, Forest Green, and Graphite Black. It is compatible with phones running Android 6.0 or iOS 9.0 or later and supports Bluetooth 5.0. The Huawei Band 6 is already listed on Huawei Malaysia's website and will be available for purchase starting April 4 for RM 219 or right around $53.
