Huawei Impulse 4G gets announced by AT&T, yours for $30
The battle of the budget droids in the United States got even more interesting today, as AT&T announced the latest addition to its Android portfolio - the Huawei Impulse 4G.
The device is essentially a renamed Huawei IDEOS X5 - an entry level droid, which offers quite a lot of features. The device is powered by a Qualcomm CPU, clocked at 800MHz, and has 512MB of RAM on board. The screen is 3.8" unit with WVGA resolution. A 5MP autofocus camera, capable of shooting 720p videos at 30fps, will be in charge of capturing your memories. All this functionality will come in a package, weighing 130 grams.
The Huawei Impulse 4G will come with Android 2.2 Froyo out of the box. As far as the 4G moniker goes, don't let it fool you that the device is LTE capable. In the case of the Huawei Impulse 4G, it is HSPA+ connectivity with speeds up to 14.4 Mbps.
The Huawei Impulse 4G will be available from September 18th for the highly affordable price of $29.99 on a two-year contract with AT&T, making it one quite attractive entry-level Android smartphone.

Been using this phone for a week in South Africa. It's seriously good! Great touch screen and the response time is quite unexpected (in a good way!) Definitely a low price phone you should consider.
