Huawei sets a global launch event for May 7, no mention of Pura 70 smartphones

Huawei announced today it will host an innovative product launch on May 7 in Dubai. The company will showcase wearables, Matebook laptops and Matepad tablets next Tuesday, but the poster did not say anything about smartphones.

The wearable is most likely a Watch Fit 3 – a band/watch hybrid that is reminiscent of the Apple Watch, including the red-colored rotating button.

The MateBook X Pro 2024 will also be revealed to the overseas audience. This laptop is selling in China with a 980-gram body and the new Intel Ultra 9 processor, which is about 60% faster overall than the 13th gen Core i7.

The big question remains whether Huawei will launch the Pura 70 phones internationally or if those will remain China-exclusive, like the Mate 60 devices. We can only hope the flagships will be unveiled in a sort of “one more thing” way, but it is a far stretch since flagships smartphones normally get way more time in the spotlight.
