Huawei Mate 30 Pro goes on pre-order in the UK, sales tip-off on February 20
Huawei’s Mate 30 Pro is finally making its way to the UK, nearly 5 months after its official launch. The phone is already up for pre-order exclusively through Carphone Warehouse with official sales scheduled to start on February 20. It will be offered in its 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage configuration and will go for £899. The only available colorway is Space Silver.
Carphone is bundling in a free Watch GT 2 (Sport Edition) and a pair of FreeBuds 3 TWS headphones to entice potential buyers. Despite the stellar hardware, the phone is still without Google Mobile Services (GMS) which is the biggest pitfall for most users.
We recently did an experiment with the Mate 30 Pro to see what a Google services-free life is like and the verdict is that with plenty of effort, it’s a usable experience at best but far from seamless. You can also check out our Mate 30 Pro review, which we did a while back.

Ah yes, the phone consumers of the UK were responsible for the decision to use Huawei in 5G infrastructure.

At that price, it's better to get the latest Samsung S20 series. However, at around ~$450 then maybe I will forego the GMS crap.
